The Mad American Wrote:Anyone seen the previews for this remake? I am pretty excited for it even though I am a big fan of the original with John Wayne I think Bridges, Damon and Brolin starring in it along with the Coen brothers being in control can't be a bad thing. The John Wayne version is one of my favorite films (Sorry Ken. ). I had reservations about this one until I saw several trailers. I love Bridges, but he just din't seem to have enough "sand" to play Rooster Cogburn. After seing several trailers and tv spots, I think he is perfect.

As a rule anymore, I hate remakes, but I will say that preview sparked my interest. It looks like they're staying pretty true to the original, except for the girl being kidnapped. That should bring another level of angst into the movie. We'll see.

Here is to hope...
