Actually prefer Smashwords because you can buy it and download the book in just about any format you prefer. (Actually got "Black Wind" and "The Keep" through them and bought "DNA Wars" a second time - after getting the Kindle version - because I prefer the iBooks reader.)

It's DRM free. You should be able to use Stanza (also free) to convert to epub format.

I do hope the rumors of the print version are true. While I have no problem with purchasing books, movies, or games online my own personal preference is to have a physical copy.

There will eventually be a print copy this year, but it won't include all the extras we're releasing with the ebooks version.

Both the teaser chapters and the preorder chapters, with product description, are now live on Amazon.

I thought that any ebook purchased through Amazon/Kindle had their version of DRM. I know that their file structure (based upon Mobi) is only viewable on their products/viewers. Will try it out when it is released. (BTW - I use Calibre to do my ebook conversions.)

I placed a preorder for the book. I assume what is written in the description is the "teaser chapters" but how/when do I get the "preorder chapters"?

Thanks for pre-ordering! This is the free teaser chapter link:

This is the pre-order link for $2.99:

Two separate links. Confusing, I know, but it's the only way we can do it.

The ebook will definitely be DRM free. That's the arrangement we've made with Amazon.

I know little to nothing about ereaders, but I did buy my wife a Sony eReader. Can I buy it for that?

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.

We'll probably put it up in other formats later, but right now Amazon is being very cooperative, arranging pre-orders and sample-chapters downloads.

You guys have finally done it. Pushed me over the edge of the eReader cliff. I downloaded the PC app and have a Kindle on order now.

Book looks amazing, reading the teasers now and can't wait for the release. Awesome!! Come on Oct. 19th!
