AlvinFox Wrote:Trade paperback to go with the other re-releases, right?

I certainly hope so. It would be nice to get to the end of a series with all the issues looking the same instead of the cover design/format changing halfway through.
Why do publishers do that? :dontknow:

Hmmm, there are 2 versions of Nightworld in the den bookcase, mighty tempting.

When I was at a signing at the end of last month, Paul said he took out almost 8,000 words or so and then ended up putting in about another 10,000. So altogether there will be an additional 2,000 word over the original size, but 10,000 words of new material. So even if you read the original, there will be plenty to surprise you in the new version.

The funny thing about the flamethrower is at some place and some point in time, someone looked at something and thought, "Hey, I'd really like to set that on fire, but it's too far away."

I'm really tempted and I'd look forward to a third revision.
After all, there's Weezy to add in. Unless Paul kills her off in the next book.
And you have resisted temptation, Brian? Damn, you've got willpower!

Here's a recollection...

Back in December 2006, guess it was, Paul had an event at B&N Lincoln Triangle. (At me own suggestion to the CRM, Oy'll hev yez know!) And I brought my whole collection to get signed.

"Hi, Paul! I'm Bluesman Mike."
"Hi, Blues! Always like to match a name with a face."
"I got this used NIGHTWORLD online, at bn.com. Cost twenty bucks, but--"
Paul was aghast. "Twenty bucks? For a used paperback? Mike, I would have sent you a copy!"
"It was worth every cent."

And it was. One of the best novels I've ever read.

I can't wait to see how Dr Wilson is gonna combine all the new members of RJ's world,ie The Lodge, the Kickers,Dormies and especially Weezy and The Lady with the current inhabitants of Nightworld. This is gonna be FUN!!!

somevelvetmorning Wrote:i figured i'd just bump this thread rather than start a new one...so i just finished all of the available adult rj novels. i still have to read the young jack stuff as well as the adversary cycle, and all the other secrety history of the world stuff....should i read nightworld, or should i wait for this revised edition? i mean, i really don't know if i CAN wait, but should i try?

I'm in a similar boat. I've read all RJ books (including first 2 young jack's), and adversary cycle save nightworld. Should I wait to read the revised version or just read it now?

I've picked both versions off the bookcase and tossed the idea around of reading them back to back. I used some self control and put them back in place. I'll wait for the last book, then read them.
