Now that the show is over, I will likely never return to any of it. The ending was good and with some deliberation there is a decent explanation.

However, thinking about the 6-year build to the finale, there are so many unanswered questions and inconsistencies that I would not want to participate in the over-analysis of the show. Looking for flaws would only ruin the thrill of the first time. Hindsight is 20/20, but why look back?

Lost is over. It is done. Good, but not great in the end.

Maggers Wrote:Can you imagine the Island under Hurley's rule? What a great place that would be! Ben told Hurley that the rules they'd been working under were Jacob's rules, and he was gone. I bet Hurley's rules were wonderful, and I be that someday we will see them. Without the smoke monster, and without the likelihood that another would be created, there would be no need for Hurley to be as paranoid as Jacob was, living in fear of his not-quite-dead brother.

Woot for Hurley's Island! Big Grin

Now there's an excellent idea for a spin-off show! Big Grin

Nah, it's probably best left to our imagination but I'm sure it would be a fabulous place to go. And how fitting that the best of them - Hurley - and the worst of them - Ben - end up helping each other find balance and purpose in the new era on the island.

I guess I was a little disappointed that the science and large parts of the mythology were discarded last night. So much was made of the time travel and the electromagnetic force on the island. So much was made of the island itself as a character. And even though things like that led many of us to develop particular theories of what was going on, they just brushed all that off and went a different way.

Overall, my scales still tip toward the white stone regarding The End, but in a perfect world the writers would have found a way to bring everything together - the science, the myth, and the character relationships - into one EPIC conclusion. If they couldn't do that, then I'm glad they went with the relationships angle.

I was just an emotional puddle by the end of it.

I am only speaking about my recognizing the voice that moaned "help me" as being the voice of the actor who played Christian Shepherd, therefore, for me, it was the voice of Christian's animated body, whoever it might be who was animating it. I recognized that long ago when it first aired.

The post you quoted from was a list of some answers that were put out in a Q&A that werent answered in the show. I was just saying it seemed like you missed the one about MIB and his real name.

Did anyone else feel like the scene near the end with Ben, Locke and Hurley outside the church was just amazing? I couldn't get over how great and almost moving it was.

Ben not ready to move on...yes, quite moving. I still can't believe he wasn't in Hell though...lol

I could really just imagine what a Hurley island would be like. I could see him bringing people to the island to sort of find theirselves. I can imagine him bringing people that are lost and misserable, sort of like Jacob did. But Hurley wouldn't do it to find a replacement but to actually help the people as Ben said he did best. I would definitely love a spin off like that. Would be interesting to see it from the other side, instead of the losties see it from the protector.

Oh. No, I didn't miss that. It hasn't bothered me that MIB's name was never stated.

I recommend pleasant.

I learned the other day, to me astonishment and delight, that me Dear Old Mother (age 82) is a LOST fan.

So what happened in the final? Everybody was sitting in a diner?
