On message boards all across the nation stone geeks are furiously typing in the words I TOLD YOU SO! Wink

I'm pretty sure I've heard the whispers are ghosts theory here before.

That was a pretty good episode. Now did Desmond run down Locke for some kind of revenge or is it to force him to get fixed up by Jack? That was pretty cool though. Rarely has a character in any kind of fiction had to take so many beatings. Poor bastard.

Ditto, then again at the end. Good stuff.

I kept saying that Ilana was shoving rocks and stuff into the bag with unstable dynamite...there was gonna be a boom...good to know I was right....and yeah...we laughed.
About the dynamite though...I thought it wasn't invented until the 1880's or so....wasn't the Blackrock before that?

The whispers are ghosts trapped on the island...they can't move on. Nice to know we were right about that.

And I agree...poor Desmond....gets beaten up like every episode!

I think CC was referring to Locke as the poor beaten up bastard. Those legs of his have had so much havoc wreaked upon them. Metaphorically (and maybe metaphysically), how could Locke ever stand up for himself, ever move forward?

Liam is amazed at the sheer number of beat downs on this show. We've been trying to count just the number of rifle butts to the head but lost track, and we're only midway through Season 3. :p

Oh, and I agree with CC that Sideways Jack will come along and fix up Sideways Locke. Memories will be triggered and another thread is created to help weave together the Island Survivors and the Sideways Survivors until cohesion is achieved.

Those little pockets of electromagnetism that are all over the Island, mentioned by Zoe (Widmore's scientist) and Locke (at the well last night) will come into play in some sort of explosive manner, and I'm still rooting for that volcano. Big Grin

I don't think cohesion is necessary. Because everyone on the island already exists off the island they are very expendable. In Stephen King's Dark Tower series he killed off all the characters by the end of the book then added an afterward where they all existed happy in an alternate type universe. It's a little bit of a copout but it kind of gives them latitude to really lay waste to these guys. My guess is that they're gonna pick up steam killing characters off. We'll see. Sun was shot in the sideways world because that baby had no right to exist without being on the island, I think.

But the baby...a girl..... was born off the island...and is still off the island. I just thought of something...what if the little girl is really Jacob's replacement?

Woot! Good thought! The name on the wall is Kwon. Kwon could be any of the three.

I've always thought Aaron will play a big part in the future of the Island. He's a true native, born there, after all.

Oceanic 815 Survivors I wouldn't mind losing:
Kate
Claire

Oceanic 815 Survivors I suspect might die:
Sayid, his past is so tortured (you should pardon the pun) that he owes about a zillion pounds of flesh to redeem himself, though I think that he has been trying desperately to redeem himself since we met him.

One of the Kwons, looks like it could be Sun but you know how the writers can be with surprises, it could be Jin.

Sawyer, yes, he is utterly wonderful, but I have the feeling he will sacrifice himself (again) for Kate.

Oceanic 815 Survivors who must survive:
Hurley, 'cause he's just to fabulous to die and everyone loves Hurley

Jack, 'cause his tatoos say he will be a leader...among them but not one of them

Islanders who will probably have an absolutely stunning and suprising redemptive scene that will blow our minds completely:
Ben

Islanders who will probably meet an inglorious end:
Widmore

Freighties who I want to survive at all costs:
Miles
Lapidus

Survivors, Freighties and Others who might come back from the dead ('cause I still think that's an option for some folks):
Charlie
Charlotte
Daniel
Juliet
Libby (maybe)

Maggers, I have to disagree with the fate of one of those people.

Hurley.

Don't get me wrong. I love Hurley (who doesn't?) and relate with him the most. I just think it would be very powerful to have Hurley sacrifice himself for everyone else in the last episode. I would hate it and yell at my tv. But it is something that I could see the show doing. Maybe he'd die and immediately come back.

And poor Sun. She keeps getting to where Jin just was not too long ago.

That is something I could see the writers doing. Hurley has stepped up this season, you can still see he is hesitant and maybe afraid, but he still accomplishes what needs to be done.

If they killed Hurley there would be a HUGE AUDIBLE moan across America and the world.

But, he would be reunited with Libby somewhere, maybe even on the Island, where he might show up to someone else who can talk to ghosts.
