webby Wrote:I mentioned before that I'm rewatching the whole series from the beginning since I got Mr. Webby hooked on the show.
I've got Liam watching now, too. We are about halfway through Season 2.
Before this last season started, I watched the entire series backwards, from Season 5 to 1. Then watched it forwards, from Season 1 to 5. That's after having seen each episode of each season at least 10 times, probably more. I've studied this show like no other.
It's been my experience that everything that is placed in a scene, every word out of their mouths, every action they take is meaningful, and sometimes becomes much more meaningful after you've viewed the entire series (so far). I imagine after the show's finale, there will be many more "ah ha!" moments if we review the entire series again, which I am sure to do.
In fact, I have to be very careful what I say to Liam, who, of course, has no idea what is to come. I know so much more and I find myself wanting to blurt out, "Oh Wow! So THAT'S what that means!" Because I've made yet another connection to future/past/sideways events on or off the Island. I stay completely silent while watching with Liam, and let me tell you, for me, that's hard.
I remember the scene with Desmond and Jack, and yes,
you have to lift it up is important for many reasons. Desmond was, of course, talking about Jack's ankle, but Desmond was also a former monk-in-training. So Desmond has had, probably still has, a close relationship with a higher power. I would imagine that infuses his world and a phrase like
you have to lift it up becomes much more meaningful. And, it will probably be repeated in whatever scene will come between Jack and Desmond on the Island, because you just know Desmond has to make it back to the Island for the tableau to be complete.
