AlvinFox Wrote:Anyway, maybe the flash-sideways are just a convenient device for Sawyer to sleep with the women he missed out on during the previous seasons. And working in the LAPD I kept expecting Ana Lucia to show up. Or Ana Lucia's mom.

That would be neat. It could still happen. But we did see Charlie's brother in the police station last night, which I guess means he did not move to Australia in the sideways world which makes me wonder then why Charlie went to Australia at all in the sideways world. Not that it matters, but it's an annoying little snag in the fabric of things.

That was a nice little twist. Smile

Maybe Des is in the locked room on the sub?

I'm really looking forward to that episode! I hope I'm not setting my expectations too high.

I thought the most interesting thing about last night's episode was how Sawyer decided to handle both Widmore and UnLocke. What could be the most important con of his life turns out to be... no con at all! He told both of them the flat out truth. Well, except for the part about him and Kate commandeering the sub, but they didn't ask about that, so... Big Grin

I've been working strange hours lately, I've set the DVR just on the chance I'm out. I don't want to miss his story.

I loved this episode. I felt so sorry for Richard. I don't know why but I thought he'd be much older than that. But I learned a lot of stuff about the island.

I agree. I though Richard was really old...like Egyptian old. I did feel sorry for him. But we did find out some more about TMIB.

I just love Hurley now...he's a conduit to the dead.
But one thing is really bothering me. Such a long time ago...I thought the people on the island were all dead. If it turns out that this is a struggle between good and evil....I can accept that. If it's purgitory....I'm gonna be upset.

Richard is the best charachter on the show IMO

I win the pool. I chose The Island is a Cork Theory.

P.S. And Jacob had a temper in his early days, didn't he? He's so saintly today. Yes, and Richardo's story did not let me down. I understood all the Spanish and laughed at the subtitles. Hurley must be Chicano; his Spanish is sub-par. Maybe he just memorized his lines, like Linda Ronstant did for her Canciones Por Mi Padre LP.

Some thoughts about Richard's story.

The MIB is a prisoner on the island. Just how long have they been there?
Jacob is his jailer. Jacob has powers, are they God given?
Richard becomes a watcher over how other's see and deal with the MIB. An early warning system of a sort.
If the MIB gets off the island, evil will spread to the world. Ominous to say the least.
Richard isn't as old as we thought he was, from the 1860's era.
The statue guarding? the island was broken by the Black Rock during a storm. I find that improbable. Rock/stone toppled and broken by a wooden ship.

His ridiculous amount of eyeliner probably puts you in the Egyptian frame of mind. Smile

Predicition : Jack takes over for Jacob, Sawyer takes over for the Man in Black, show ends with Jack and Sawyer sitting on the log looking over the beautiful valley.

I hope it doesn't happen. The Producers clearly stated awhile back that the island wasn't Hell or Purgatory. Anything even close to that in my eyes would be a bit of a copout.
