Here's an interesting thought. In the flash sideways Jack has a son who is about 15. Jack met Sarah just a few years before the crash, so David is probably not Sarah's son. Would Jack have been in Medical School when he had his son? If so, who's another doctor on the show? Juliet.

What makes you think Juliet is the mother of Jack's son?

Libby also went to medical school, though she said she dropped out and switched to psychology, receiving a PhD degree rather than an MD.

It's interesting that Claire told Jin when she looked at his wounded ankle, "If there's one thing that'll kill you around here it's an infection." Sounds like the Island doesn't support healing for her. Although Richard Alpert told Locke to keep his gun shot thigh wound clean and change the bandages and the Island would do the rest. I don't know, I was struck that Claire would say that. Does the Island help heal some and not others? Yes, actually, 'cause Ben got cancer and his incision became infected.

Sounds like I'm having a debate with myself. LOST'll do that to you.

Guess the Island has trouble with microbes.

Ben had cancer and the island couldn't heal him, yet the woman that sat across from Jack in the flash sideways, Adele I think, had cancer when she crashed on the island. She was healed. Could it be that only those that are considered candidates are healed? If Jack didn't have his appendix taken out and it burst, would the island have healed him? That's not consistent enough for me. There has to be another answer out there.

Rose is her name, and she was healed as long as she stayed on the Island, so it seems. Rose and Bernard are the couple.

Quote:Could it be that only those that are considered candidates are healed? If Jack didn't have his appendix taken out and it burst, would the island have healed him?
I remember Rose mentioning to Bernard that she was suspicious of the timing of Jack's appendicitis attack, which came just as he was leading the survivors off the Island, or so they thought. The mercenaries from the freighter changed all that. But Rose wondered out loud how Jack could get sick when the Island seemed to heal everyone.

On LOST, there's always another answer out there. Wink

Because why not? I wonder which Other we'll see in the next flash sideways. Oh! Tom Friendly, I'd like to see him again.

Yeah, there's Libby, but isn't Cynthia Watros not returning?

Ahh, but I don't base my guesses on who is returning or not 'cause that is not information I have. You mentioned who was also a doctor, and that's why I named Libby.

At this point, I find that I'm not guessing things like who is Jack's alterna-wife. I do, however, try to find clues in the scenes, and so far I haven't. There were pictures on the stairway of the wife's house, but they were on screen too briefly for me to see. Someone more computer savvy than I could possibly see what's there.

I've am uncertain about just what is "inhabiting" Christian Shepherd. Is it an good entity or a bad one? He is a good witch or a bad witch or just an indifferent one? Given that he put Claire in the situation in which she now finds herself, that is, he came to her in the middle of the jungle in the middle of the night and somehow convinced her to leave Aaron and go on a walkabout with him to the cabin, I cannot think he has Claire's best interest at heart. On the other hand, if the intent of his actions was to get Aaron off the Island to a place where Aaron might be safest, then he succeeded, and does that make him a less nasty entity?

When Locke met Christian in the well with his badly broken leg, Christian would not/could not help Locke walk. When Locke told Christian that he was supposed to bring everyone back and that he had to die in doing so, Christian said, "well, I guess that's why they call it sacrifice." Both those interchanges smack of the Man In Black.

With the lure of the sound of ice tinkling in his glass and shod in his white tennis sneakers, Christian led Jack to water in the caves, and also to his empty casket. The water helped to save the survivors. Again, ambiguous actions that could be taken as beneficent but then there's the empty casket.

So, I remain unclear about the genesis of Island-Christian.

Well, let me watch the scene again and see what I can get. In the meantime, here's some fun stuff:

Terry O'Quinn wants to work with Michael Emerson again in a series where they are both suburban hit men juggling family issues.

I can't really get a good shot of the pictures on the walls on the first floor of the house. Some in a hallway and others on the staircase. The ones I can kinda sorta make out look like they'd be of David. Some clear ones in Davids room appear to be him and girls his age.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm torn here. It was a pretty cool episode. Now we know about Sayid. But I didn't get any questions answered and they hyped that up all week.
