All the fixes are great. I have lots of favorites...but thinking about a show-down....Jack rescuing Vicki...sneaking into the ship...kicking Rakoshi butt....it's awesome....the best one.

Jack Vs. Mama rakoshkebab
And I always get choked up in Jack Vs the hospital in Harbingers as he stood in the echoing silence.

I agree. For me this is the hands down winner in Jacks show downs.
The joy I had when Vickie jumped into his arms and he doused Kusum was immeasurable.

But I have two close seconds.

When Jake Naught battled Sarge in "Nightkill" and when Jack and his Dad took on the freaks in "Gateways". There was even a tornado in there for me.Smile

And a ton of thirds.

It's really hard to pick a favorite because there are so many, but if I'm asked about a Jack showdown, that cargo hold always jumps to my mind first.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you on this one. I really can't choose just one. Smile

Not just Jack books either. The confrontaion the Healer had with Kali, the redemption Steve brought down for John. LaNauge vs. the State. How the Vaneck settled a score with a killer psi. When Jake rescued Angel. Etc etc (good stuff)Smile

***BEWARE SPOILERS***

(Spoiler from Crisscross below)

For some reason, although it's not like some of the bigger showdowns in Jack's history, the ending of Jensen's existance in Crisscross was pretty dark and was also the first thing that sprang to mind when I read your question:

Excerpt from the book:

(Begin Quote)
'Christ, what did it take to get rid of this guy? Right now the fall needed to look like an accident. But if Jensen lived...
Couldn't allow that.
Steeling himself for what he was about to do, Jack climbed down the rungs toward the car. Jensen's hands were beginning to move, his arms too. But not a twitch from his legs. Back was probably broken...spinal cord injury.
Well, his spinal cord was about to get worse.
(skip a paragraph)
He jumped, aiming his boots for the back of Jensen's neck. He heard the vertebrae crunch as he hit with enough force to ram the bald head through the roof of the car.'
(End Quote; the guy's thoroughly dead now.)

I shudder to think about it, considering I was almost 'done in' myself from a broken-neck injury.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!

Some of my favorites have been mentioned already like Jack and his father in Gateways or Jack on the boat in The Tomb. The one at the beginning of All the Rage when he is protecting Vicky and Gia is awesome. Or the fight with Kolabati's lover in Nightworld.

And though it isn't Jack, I always thought Alan Bulmer's final moments in Nightworld were very touching(no pun intended) and brave.
