Congratulations.

Dydeetown World went straight from an Easton Press limited edition, (genuine leather cover with silk lining, gilt-edge pages and a sewn-in silk book mark) to paperback. I accidently found an unread copy a few months ago, and bought it for $45. The original price was $60.

So you're right, some people just don't know what they have.

There's one Gauntlet edition in lettered and numbered states with the same cover. If it doesn't look like this, I don't know what it is.

We so often hear friends and acquaintences talk about what a deal they got on ________ (fill in the blank.)

When it happens to us, it comes as a . . . :yikes:

I got mine a few years ago, on Ebay, for $74.99, "Buy iy Now". Sometimes you get lucky. Congratulations.

ImDeranged Wrote:After ordering the Gauntlet Ground Zero last week, I was looking at my bookshelf. Still missing The Haunted Air Gauntlet version. So I went online as I do sporadically and see the same sellers selling the same copies for $599. All ex-library copies without clear explanations of their condition. Did Gauntlet do a bulk order to a library system or was this when the series started taking off and enough people requested it from their local libraries that they ponied up for the LE version. Well anyway I wasn't paying those prices, I have the paperback and have read it already of course. So I thought to just buy a Forge hardcover to use as a placeholder until I could get a copy of the Gauntlet release.

Going through the sellers on Amazon Marketplace I see the normal VG copies around 4-5 dollars. Reading through I got to an edition that was New $22.22 described as having a different cover on the jacket and sealed in shrink wrap. Could it be? Was it? I opened my mailbox today and found a bulky package. I could tell just by the feel of the book. I opened it and sure enough, I now have a Gauntlet Edition of The Haunted Air! for $22.22 +3.99 shipping! Still sealed too. Is there any changes between the two publishers on this title? If not I don't even want to open it.

If anyone else is looking for a copy keep checking marketplace listings because sometimes people just don't know what they have. Big Grin

Nice haul, Jeff! Yeah, you can score some amazing stuff online if you keep your ear to the ground, your shoulder to the wheel, and your eyes on the stars. (Credit to RAH for that little rap)
