Let me preface this with "I am not trying to be a conspiracy theorist!"

I reread The Tomb this weekend and noticed a strong resemblance to a scene in it and in the movie Aliens...

Picture Jack and Vicky trying to get away from the rakoshi in the ship, him carrying her, walking among the creatures, carrying a flame thrower, getting on an elevator, one lone creature following, jumping and hanging on the bottom of the lift...

I just thought it was interesting...that's all.

Welcome ccarroll.

Let me add my welcome, ccarroll.

I hadn't noticed the similarity before, but you're quite right. But why not be generous and think, "Great minds, etc."

Now if Jack had said, "Get away from her, you bitch!", that would be another story.Wink

and quite right, I think that quote would have been hard to argue. Either way, both scenes are very tense. I kept wondering while I read, though, where's Lance Henriksen when you need him?

Probably in the mens' room.

Ccarroll, what's your pedigree? How did you come upon this board? And what's your favorite Paul Wilson novel?

I'm an English major/soon-to-be librarian from GA. I have to admit, I have to read way more of his stuff. I'm behind. However, The Keep will probably always be up there at the top.

Good for you! Good librarians are an underrated resource. Do you have your eye set on any particular job? College librarian, mebbe?

Working in a university library now, so I'll probably stick with academics. But if a public library job opened on a beach...

Haw! Don't know if that's very likely! But hey...why not start your own beach library?

"Ccarrol's Beach Books
Read 'em for just 50 cents a book!
I got books about health
Books about wealth
Chick lit and thrillers
Full of all kinds of killers
Just the thing to fill up your day
But don't steal 'em
The next soul on the sand
Wants to read 'em!"
