The Tomb and Aliens - ccarroll - 07-20-2009 Let me preface this with "I am not trying to be a conspiracy theorist!" I reread The Tomb this weekend and noticed a strong resemblance to a scene in it and in the movie Aliens... Picture Jack and Vicky trying to get away from the rakoshi in the ship, him carrying her, walking among the creatures, carrying a flame thrower, getting on an elevator, one lone creature following, jumping and hanging on the bottom of the lift... I just thought it was interesting...that's all. The Tomb and Aliens - cobalt - 07-20-2009 Yes, very similar. Like a "stolen" idea. lol Welcome ccarroll. I hadn't noticed the similarity before, but you're quite right. But why not be generous and think, "Great minds, etc." Now if Jack had said, "Get away from her, you bitch!", that would be another story. The Tomb and Aliens - ccarroll - 07-20-2009 and quite right, I think that quote would have been hard to argue. Either way, both scenes are very tense. I kept wondering while I read, though, where's Lance Henriksen when you need him? And what's your favorite Paul Wilson novel? The Tomb and Aliens - ccarroll - 07-20-2009 I'm an English major/soon-to-be librarian from GA. I have to admit, I have to read way more of his stuff. I'm behind. However, The Keep will probably always be up there at the top. The Tomb and Aliens - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 07-20-2009 ccarroll Wrote:I'm an English major/soon-to-be librarian from GA. Do you have your eye set on any particular job? College librarian, mebbe? The Tomb and Aliens - ccarroll - 07-20-2009 Working in a university library now, so I'll probably stick with academics. But if a public library job opened on a beach... The Tomb and Aliens - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 07-20-2009 ccarroll Wrote:Working in a university library now, so I'll probably stick with academics.
