According to Amazon it looks like FPW will have to share his Ground Zero release date with some book called the Lost Symbol by someone named Dan Brown. Good luck to that Dan Brown guy. Rolleyes

I wonder what kind of overlap there is between Paul's readers and Dan Brown's?

I suspect not much, though I'm not sure why I suspect that.

Well that just sucks. I think FPW's publishers need to rethink that date for the sake of sales.

How come, Steve? As I mentioned earlier, is there a big overlap between the readers?

I like to think, Paulcats and Paulkitties are a breed apart!Wink

Any author, no matter how well known, needs coverage in the market. You see this every day at B&N. How long does a book stay on the best seller table when a book by somebody like Dan Brown ( who I think is an MUCH overrated hack, quite honestly. ) puts out a book at the same time?

Where does the smaller sales book go from there? To the obscurity of the literature/fiction shelves where its sales numbers go into hibernation once the pre-existing fans have gotten their share.

In plain English, once we all have our copies the book is going to be forced to the back shelves ( in MUCH smaller amounts).

This isn't right. Hell, this is just plain bad marketing.

Then again, this might be a good thing. Picture this... The new Dan Brown book setting on a table with a new FPW book tittled "Ground Zero" right next to it. I'm thinking that's a guaranteed buy (I'm not being a fan boy here. With that title, setting on the new release shelf with Dan Browns piece of sh-t, this may be his best selling book to date.)

I think it's a good idea. Dan Brown will bring more asses to the stores. Having a new RJ book hit the stores at exactly the same time as all the readers showing up to get another author's book is brilliant. There will be far more people walking by Ground Zero. Surely some of them will be drawn by the cover and give it a shot. Maybe they'll like it enough to get The Tomb, Legacies, and the rest. Anything that gets more folks to the store, has to be good for fpw.

Hopefully enabling even more readers to find him. All thanks to timing the release to an event release from another author...and fpw's writing which should sell itself but will get the extra help from this.

One of the local grocery stores, here in Brooksville, has been stocking fpw softcovers for the last year, or so. Yesterday they had Implant, Deep as the Marrow, and Bloodline.

Mark and I are luckily big fans of both authors, so we will be able to get our FPW and DB fix all in one location and at the same time! Now the big question is, will it be jello or pudding in the wrestling arena, to see who gets to read who first! ;-) Keri

Every so often, when I go to NYC or any place else that requires a train I try to leave behind one of my many much read copies of FPW's works. I have duplicates and I figure if it works for the Kickers and the Dormentalists it can work for Paul.
