Agreed. This is probably why I did not find him the least bit terrifying ,or convincing for that matter, in The Amityville Horror

In my opinion, that's what will be so hard do cast him. All the choices floating around this forum are ok, but can you think of one actor who can be so subdued and terrifible, yet not too pretty? I think he'll have to be an unknown. They just don't make em perfect. Back when I first read The Tomb, I thought maybe Bruce Willis, But that was about 20 years ago. At the rate this is progressing, even Ryan Reynolds will be 50 by the time it gets into production.

Age 33 (same age as Reynolds)
Height: 5'10"
Eyes: blue (will need brown contacts)
Origins: grew up in the Bronx and attended Catholic schools.

Acting chops: Is capable and not as pretty as Reynolds. Although he has had a number of roles in the last decade, he is also not as well known (ie: he has not done as many chick flicks) as Reynolds.

Attitude toward acting: ""I could have taken a bigger role in a smaller movie, but for me it's never about the size of the role" comment after being cast with Mel Gibson in We Were Soldiers (2002).

He was the hero in Wrong Turn, and in Ghost Ship. Specialist Bill Beck in We Were Soldiers. More recently, on TV, he has played Joey Quinn on Dexter for 12 episodes and Troy on Rescue Me for 7 episodes.

Looks like: cross between Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck (with more of the former than the latter). Does not, normally, have the physique that Reynolds has, which is more Jack-esque IMO.

Hope this helps.

Reynolds is too busy playing Deadpool and making awful chick flicks. Cut your loses and move on.

Welcome, MadScheib. You'll like it here.

Good choice! He's 33, 5'10, has brown eyes and, from all the pictures I've seen, the one you posted is probably his "most handsome" ...others are more average which is exactly what we need.

Plus, unlike Des Harrington, his hairline isn't receding.

Here's another, "more average" pic from last year:

THAT, I would pay money to see!

Too bad he's 66...Roma's supposed to be about 36 in Conspiracies.

The more I look at photos of Sam Worthington, the more he IS Jack for me.

It's spooky.

Now all I have to do is watch something he's been in...maybe Terminator on Friday night.

Plus, he's going to play Perseus in the remake of Clash of the Titans; which, while not guaranteeing he is a gifted actor, should at least have his physique in the proper shape to play Jack with his shirt off (ie: the ladies will be happy).

More Sam Worthington buzz.

Worthington's character is slated to appear in all three Terminator Salvation series flicks.

His star must be high because James Cameron recommended him to Salvation director McG.

Worthington will appear in Cameron's Avatar in 2009, the first feature film Cameron's directed (non-documentary) since Titanic in 1997.

It seems he can act as well as look like Jack, and James Cameron is his buddy.

...so he can play Jack and James Cameron can direct? Can anyone say Aliens (at the end hero saves little girl on ship from monsters)?

Like I said. Spooky.
