I'm looking forward to seeing The Road with Viggo Mortensen. Not your most "hopeful" of movies (the book was excellent) but I'm interested to see what they do with the movie.

tenebroust Wrote:Terminator,

I wasn't that pumped to see this until I saw the trailer; it looks like they blanched the humor entirely and are going for intense action. It's still a wait and see with me.

Although it isn't slated until a '10 release, I was excited to discover they're making Jonah Hex into a film and its got a good cast thus far: Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, and Megan Fox.

At first, when I heard about "2012" I thought it was based on the novel by Whitley Strieber....but it wasn't.

Bummer. Sad

Sorry peoples, I just didnt grow up on comics at all, except for the occasional Batman. So Ill wait for watchmen to come out on dvd or some such before I watch it. I recently heard that Guliermo Deltoro(sp?) is no longer going to bring us the H.P. Lovecraft tale of, At the mountains of madness. SadI dont really like Tom Cruise anymore, but Valkyrie looks promising with a historical value in it. Twilight to me, (prepare the hatred everyone) just isnt what a vampyric tale is truelly about. Seems your average teen drama with a twist of vampirism thrown in. I am not hating on the books though.. I do love the show True Blood, thats gritty and to me more possible in a world of vampryes existing. Other than Bram Stokers Dracula, the only vampyre anything I really come to acknowledge as realistic, would have to be the manga, Hellsing. It depicts what a vampyre truelly should be, a souless monster devoid of any regard for humanity other than what its extreme and passionate emotions care to allow. Please remeber all, these are just my opinions. Not gonna lie, am waiting for the 2nd Transformers movie.

If you like vampires with bite and the true horror of it all. Monsters aplenty in Lumley's story line. Start with The Source. I read them years ago. Some might be out of print, but they're worth the find.

I just saw the trailer for the remake of "The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3" on imdb.com. I'll probably see it, but I don't know how they can improve on the original, which was a model for the cool, spare, efficient caper film and one of my favorites.
