Whatever happened to the list of all the short stories of "Repairman Jack"?
I saw it here somewhere, but now I just cannot seem to find it! Did it get
removed for some reason, and/or does anyone have a copy of the list?
I wanted to start ordering all the books that Doctor Wilson had anything to do with.

Thanks, Lex

Paul still has them listed on his Secret History of the World...they just have asterisks after them to denote which short story anthology they are in (the anthologies are noted below the list).

"The Wringer" is no longer listed in the Secret History because Paul is currently deciding whether to work it into a novel. At present, it can only be found in 2 places: in NIGHT SCREAMS (NAL/ROC) (January 1996) edited by Gorman & Greenberg and in Gauntlet #17 (October 1999).

The first is for sale on Abebooks for as low as $1.00...the second would be much harder to find.

As well, there is no citation for "Dat Tay Vao", but it is inluded in Soft and Others, Paul's first anthology; Abebooks has it for $24. I highly recommend it for it's other stories like "Lippidleggin", etc.; stories that you hear about here on the board from time to time.

And last but not least, Paul gave away "Demonsong", here on this board, about 2 weeks ago. The thread is a sticky (at the top) in the RJ Main Forum.

Since "Dat-Tay-Vao" is a prequel to the novel, it will be included in the new edition of The Touch coming in July. That will be the first time they've ever been together.

On the subject of shorter works, I've just approved the bound sample copy of "The Peabody-Ozymandias Traveling Circus & Oddity Emporium." Should be available in a couple of weeks.

Outstanding, on both counts!

...and of course, Lex will have to read the Young-Jack books to find out what happens to Walt in between "Dat Tay Vao" and The Touch.

Lexator shouldn't deprive himself of the other gems that are Soft and Others, however.

Is that when "Oz..." will be available for pre-order or for purchase?

Welll! Thanks for all the input. I actually have a copy of "Soft..." and nobody better even look at it twice!!!! :-) Although I just finished "By the sword" and will now be
reading "Jack, The secret history of the world" so don't tell me anything. I just hope that someplace will be the story of how Jack meets Abe, and Gia, and some others! I always wanted to find out that "Q" from the James Bond novels was actually the FIRST 007! Too bad that will never happen! :-(

Thanks again, Lex

I remember, about a year ago, I got on this site, and had to order about 5 or 6 books from the library, each with little bits and parts of the
Repairman Jack short stories. According to your list, I can find all of them in only two books! Is this correct?

According to the list (click here) the five, older Adversary Cycle stories are in The Barrens & Others and the two newer ones are in Aftershock & Others (which comes out on March 31, 2009). Then, of course, there are two other Munroe-related stories in Barrens & Others (one of which is breifly mentioned in Nightworld).

So, yes, those 7 stories (plus 2 others) are all in 2 books now.

That leaves "The Wringer" which is not in either anthology and, unless Paul puts it into one of the last two RJ books, can only be found where I noted in my first post.

...and "The Long Way Home" can be purchased as a PDF download from Amazon.com

...and 5 would be The Peabody-Ozymandias Traveling Circus that FPW mentioned. This work was expanded from a shorter work called "Freakshow".

Good purchase on Soft & Others, BTW.

Welcome to the club! If you plan on purchasing these items, your quest isn't as easy as it would seem. Some of his works are hard to find (in their origional publishing, if that's what you want). It gets expensive too! Make sure to consult FPW's complete bibliography. It has all Repairman Jack stories noted as such.

The search, and collection, is a lot of fun! Just make sure you do some comparison shopping. Sometimes the items will be overpriced on Ebay or Abebooks.
