The FPW newsletter that I received a few days ago says that the signed limited edition of Ground Zero will be published in "Spring 2009," but the Gauntlet Press website says "Summer 2009". Which is correct? (Amazon doesn't even have this book listed as a preorder yet).

In the Works section of this web-site, In the Pipeline says that Ground Zero will be September/October so we now have a third possible release date of late summer, early fall.

Glad to have helped.

Heh.

On the bright-side, you can preorder GZ on the Gauntlet site right now...which I highly recommend over Amazon...I ordered the Gauntlet edition of BTS through Amazon and I got the 494th copy (of 500) and didn't receive it until a good month after everyone else already had theirs.

The extra couple of dollars that it will cost you in shipping from Gauntlet is WELL worth not having to wait yet ANOTHER month before you get your eyes on it.

I believe that the "In the Pipeline" entry is referring to the (unsigned and much cheaper) trade hardcover version (the FPW newsletter gives September/October as the release date for the trade hardcover version, as well as saying that the signed version will be released in "Spring 2009"). The trade hardcover versions of RMJ books almost always come out several months after the signed Gauntlet Press version. I am trying to discover when the signed version will come out - Spring or Summer 2009.

Well, I have the copyedited mss of both editions on my desk and am synching up the edits. Should be done by week's end. Then it's a matter of how fast Gauntlet can get it into print. Barry's smart in saying summer -- better to give a long lead time and deliver early than vice versa. My guess is late spring.

The trade edition will be Oct or Nov.

For people in retail the phrase is "Under-promise and Over-deliver."

Just my two cents.

Hi, Fantasma3c. You'll like it here.

Cobalt and I have time to post here because our copies have not arrived yet from Gauntlet. And we're not bitter, either.

Heh.

The Forge hardcover will not be out until about November, so I recommend biting the bullet and getting the Gauntlet edition now. It's $60 well spent.
