Would there be a big problem with Miles getting too close to his baby self?

Would a paradox occur? Interesting concept.

I FINALLY got to watch last week's episode. I hate being so far behind and I can't read this thread until I watch it. I loved seeing Miles' background. I wonder would happen if Miles and Hurley worked together to "talk" to a dead person. What kind of power combined could they have? That guy from the van looked familiar but I couldn't figure out from where. Maybe he had some bit part in a past episode.

The guy in the van was with Ilana on the beach when they asked Lapidus 'What lies in the shadow of the statue' and then knocked him out.

I'm with you on this one Maggers. I'm going with the idea that the people who time travelled to 1977 (ie Jack & co) have to, in some way, leave that time (otherwise they'll get 'purged') and the process of them leaving will have something to do with this mysterious incident.

That's why he looked familiar. Thanks! I didn't catch that one.

I think you're right. The process of moving them must cause this "incident" we're hearing about.

wow...um, are the writers of LOST that deseparate that we needed an entire episode devoted to a character who didn't show up until Season 4 and really hasn't done anything of significance since he arrived?

The only good things I thought occurred in this episode were the building of the hatch and Hurley saying the ewoks sucked. Smile

As to the michigan question someone asked earlier. Ann Arbor, or more specifically The University of Michigan is where the DeGaults (sp?) worked. They are part of either the DHARMA Initiative or the Hanso Foundation. They were seen in the brain washing video that Karl was forced to watch back in Season 3. So its conceivable (and pretty damn predictable if you ask me) that Faraday would be back there dealing with them for some reason or another.

Note: I just went back and saw that somebody already pointed out that DHARMA may be headquartered in Ann Arbor. But we do know that that is where the DeGaults work.

The DeGroots have shown up in a variety of Dharma training videos and those videos have been seen on abc.com and also on the extra discs in assorted LOST Season sets.

The DeGroots worked for the Hanso Foundation, which, it seems, may be based in Ann Arbor or have connections to the University there.

The Hanso Foundation has been mentioned on LOST from the beginning, just about. Remember that phony advertisement for the Hanso Foundation that was played on ABC the first season?

What if Ellie is also the mother of Penny, Widmore's known child. Woo hoo, if that were true, we'd have another pair of unsuspecting brothers and sisters, Daniel and Penny, along with Jack and Claire, each fathered by men with very close ties to the Island, and each opposed to the other, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Jack and Claire's father seems to be a spirit on the Island rather than a part of its past, but we don't know that whole story yet.

Ha! I'm right again! But I never did see just what sort of mother Eloise would turn out to be!!

So....Daniel Farady's parents are Eloise Hawking and Charles Widmore. Who saw that one?

Now onto the idea of changing events. If the O6 pull off this fete...to prevent the initial hatch incident......their plane will land safely and all that has happened...never will. Ok...that gave me a headache! lol
