Wow...what's with all the hatred for Ben? Seriously, was I the only one that felt that his last words sounded more like disappointment than anything else? That once he finally accepted that he was responsible for Alex's death that his only true judgement and redemption would be to die? So obviously the Island still needs Ben...interesting.

Up until Alex appeared I would have sworn that the smoke monster manifested itself into the form of Locke; the Locke that came out of the woods. We know that Smokey can manifest itself into different "things" when judging people...remember Yemi?

However, once I saw Alex I figured that she was Smokey and not Locke. It makes more sense that way.

So, does everyone still believe that Ben is the liar and evil person they always thought? He wouldn't kill Alex as a baby and he wouldn't kill Penny because of her son. Perhaps Charles Whidmore really is the bad guy in this story.

And the scene with Desmond beating up Ben...some very horrible editing work there. Ben was covered in blood from one hit from Desmond? Come on! That was pretty weak IMO

Ben is the type of charachter people love to hate. You don't really understand everything about him and that always makes for an interesting charachter. I don't hate him at all because he adds a lot to the show. I think Richard Alpert is cool as hell but I'm sure people hate him. I like the idea of the Eqyptians being involved in the island somehow.

I don't think anyone really "hates" Richard...he's not a big enough character.

Remember when Ben, John, and Hugo are at the Pit and Hugo says something about Ben killing all the Dharma people and Ben says he didn't kill them...it was their leader's decision? I've always maintained that someone else was behind the mass killing at New Otherton and now I'm pretty sure it was Charles. Frankly, he's a slimier character then Ben IMO.

I'll be honest, if Michael Emerson wasn't playing Ben...I probably would have stopped watching this show a looooooooooooooooong time ago. He's an enormously talented actor and frankly I think he's keeping LOST alive because like you said, Fenny, people love to hate him. Its BS that he's lost 2 years in a row at the Emmys...he deserves to be recognized for his portrayal of Ben Linus.

Michael Emerson was awesome in Saw...too bad he got his head smashed in with a lid to a toliet LOL

Care to elaborate, cobalt? I'm interested in why you hate him so much.
