I am a mother of 2 wonderful sons, and I would never in a million years ask for something, if I wasn't in desperate need. I am the kind of person that would give the shirt off my back, if someone needed it badly. I am sorry I made you all think I am just some kind of con artist. I am not, I just love my kids sooo much I thought maybe I could put my pride down and pray for someone to come to my aid, but thats ok, I know how this world is, and sometime it's just not fair. I just wanted my boys not to have to learn it soo early. I called all the churches, and charitable organizations. They couldn't help, too overloaded. So maybe we can just hope for a wonderful new year, and my boys will learn, something from this. Peace Love and Happiness to all
Thank You,
Lisa

Mention your situation to your local police and fire departments. We all have access to a little something for kids. Always have, always will. Good luck.

My Husband just recently lost his job, and we don't have even one present for our two sons 12 and 15 years old. I just feel awful, but there is no money coming from anywhere. so if anyone could possibly spare any amount, or gifts or anything appropriate for my sweet boys. They don't deserve this, if no one can help, I completely understand, the economy I know. Maybe this is the year my kids have to find out what life is like. Pretty bad sometimes.
Thank you, and Merry Christmas to one and all, no matter the outcome.
We wish a Happy Holiday Season, and God Bless a wonderful new year to all.
Peace...

My Husband was 3 years into buying a tree Service company, and all the equipment was in the previous owners name until my Hubby paid them off,
Well He was paying on a New International Chipper truck, and another one he was buying (from the "partner") until all money was paid. We are very poor, Ken fell from a tree in 1997, and didn't get any money for his doctor bills or injuries, or time off work, so we started from stratch again. Anyway, Jim Bennett, the man selling ABC Tree Service, told us he was going bankrupt, so he came 3 Sunday's ago, and took all of Ken' s equipment...Caterpiller only $3200.00 left to pay on that, An International 2 ton Chipper Truck, only $700 left to pay on that, and an almost new Chipper, that Ken had paid on for 2 years. Plus he had already paid him over $150.000, for the name ABC TREE Service, and the clients. Kenny already worked for him for 8 years, and has been a tree climber for 16 yrs.
I just wanted to explain this to all of you, to let you know how desperate we are, and now ashamed, so please forgive me for begging for help, its not like me, and I'm sure my kids will be just fine. I just didn't want them to have to have a day just like any other day of the year, they are only children for just a short more period of time, I am just sad, but life is not fair, we all find that out sooner or later.
My Faith is still with Christ, and I am sure we will make it through this year, and hope the next brings abundance.
Sorry again, if I made anyone feel anything but caring.
God Bless Us Everyone

I understand your disbelief, I would say about half the people in this world would to this for their own gain, and not even have children. I grew up with my grandparents, and was taught respect, compassion, and Love. I would never do this for evil reason. I just wanted to explain, because I felt pretty ashamed to post this anyway.
I am sorry if I wasted you time. If you could find it in your heart, anything woud be sufficient even a nice card.

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Ah, another condemned to the weather to get nicotine and carbon monoxide.

Can't smoke at work since the boss and the office manager both quit last year.

Can't smoke in the house since La Esposa thinks that's what gave her parents their cancers in organs far removed from their lungs. (Plus she thinks it will make the house hard to sell, as if the current economy wasn't already a handicap to get rid of this Victorian hovel).

Hear yez. Until last month, we used to be able to light-up after midnight in Marty O'Brien's Irish Pub. A cop bar, and you might be surprised to learn how many lawmen enjoy a smoke with their lager. Alas, some busybody upstairs complained to the Health Dept. (they're the ones who enforce the diktat, not the NYPD), so...no more healthy, lung-exercising smoking at Marty's!

I hear Mayor Bloomberg's next move will be to outlaw alcohol in taprooms. Turn them into senior-citizen centers. Most bars are long and narrow, just right for indoor shuffleboard courts.

I've been wondering for several years, Mike. Bloomy makes lots of public appearances. He's probably pissed off more residents of the Five Boroughs than at least five predecessors in a row. But he's still alive. Doesn't anybody on your side of the Hudson have any balls any more? I mean, it's not my job, since I don't live under his jurisdiction (and in fact I've crossed the Hudson maybe five times since the dick was elected, always carrying my own cigarettes), but if he was dictating to me like that, he'd be dog meat.

And yes, cop bars get away often with ignoring rules the assholes enforce against anybody else. There's one here in Kearny and one over in Bayonne that I've visited as a guest. I can speak cop-talk (a summer with the Laconia NH PD when I was 17). The world to them is cops, criminals and criminals that haven't been caught yet (the rest of us). By definition, no cop can ever be a criminal, no matter how many "innocents" are killed (since nobody is actually innocent except a cop).

Am I cynical? Nah. You're gonna have to unwind my rage a long way to get me back to merely cynical.

Damn, it's Xmas Eve. I guess I need to up my medication, if I was taking any. (All I have at the moment is beer and blood pressure pills, not much choice in the "Take a stress pill, Dave" department).
