How on earth was it ever cancelled? Why was this programme not as popular as Heroes/Lost etc? Firefly was never even broadcast on mainstream UK television - it may have been shown on the poxy cable/satellite Sci-Fi channel but hardly anyone gets that.
I can't imagine why anyone wouldnt enjoy this show - well plotted, funny, action packed, and some very strange and memorable characters. The black bounty hunter in the season finale was fantastic fun.

To my way of thinking, FOX messed it around because it tended to be anti-government -- but that's just my interpretation.
Now that Bones has revived the subject, I'm going to have to get it out and watch it again -- for the umteenth time.

Mick C. Wrote:Okay, it did develop a following. How many TV series cancelled before a season was up become TV shows? But for whatever reasons, FOX didn't feel it was worthwhile to continue it. It would probably do better now.Whether FOX didn't think the series was worth continuing, or whether some of the executives at Fox actively sabotaged it, is a matter of opinion. But All things considered, I agree; if the series was shown as it was intended -- as it's done in the Firefly Box Set -- I think it would do very well indeed.
