I felt the same way. I loved the movie but for some reason i just didn't like the show. I hate how fox treats their shows. They give a show a single season then if it does ok the next season they'll shuffle it around a few times and eventually cancel it. I'm still amazed prison break hasn't been canceled but I doubt it has too much longer.(first season was great second season watchable newest season........just rediculous.)

Are you and Cosboorne referring to the show as it was presented on television, or the series as it was done on the DVD box set?

From what I understand, FOX skipped the two-hour pilot and showed the second episode first. Then, when they showed some of the other episodes, they too were broadcast out of order.

FOX made a real mess of it.

Hmmm....I didn't know that. May be interesting to check out. I watched it on tv. I almost always give fox and FX shows a chance at first.

If I had watched this TV programme without the 2hr pilot and with the rest of the episodes all shuffled around, I doubt I would have liked it at all.

But why would FOX green light the project and give it money to be made, only to scupper it before it went on air? If the FOX execs didnt like the tone of the programme, surely they just wouldnt have backed it in the first place?

Sounds just like good old fashioned bumbling incompetence to me.

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."

I hate coppers.

Do check it out. The pilot sets up all the characters, and when you start with that, everything else will make sense.

It's a really good series.

Cuz they mangled their Chinese Wink Seriously, though, the swearing in Chinese cracked me up.

I did try to watch the series but maybe just wasn't in a sci-fi mood at the time. My sister had borrowed it from a friend and I sat in on a few eps. Maybe it's because I saw fragmented pieces instead of the whole thing from the beginning that I didn't get into it.

I love Firefly. I did not see it until a couple of years ago, bought it and have watched it several times. Every chance I get, I show it to someone new, and they love it, too.

I do remember seeing promos for it on tv.

I didn't like it and don't really get the cult following. Then again I don't like Star Trek either so.....really not my type of show.

I thought Firefly and Serenity were okay. They're not bad by any means, but I think after all the hype by my friends telling me 10,000 times how awesome the show was, my expectations were way too high. I actually got bored by the last couple episodes and never finished watching.
