Brian Wrote:Lovecraft authored Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos. Pit and Pendulum was Poe. Confused about your horror authors? Wink

I think cobalt was referring to "the basic stock of horror stories," of which THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM is one.

I just want to prove she can be wrong.

And I know the error of my ways. Smile

You can offer evidence. It will take a jury to legally declare her wrong. Proof is a philosophical concept.

I read Poe before I read Lovecraft. (I was a disturbed child back in the 60s). I have sicker friends, like the guy who's been writing an opera based on Poe's life. I've heard him sing bits of it, it's damned good and very grim.

Yeah, she can be wrong about alot of things it seems. But maybe she's not so confused as to where she wants to be and with whom.

So The Otherness = TRADOC?? (Sorry, only Army people will "get" it...where's Tony??)

Lovecraft is perhaps my all time favorite horror author. I think I'll read some tonight before I go to bed (can't game because they are running patches Sad )

I couldn't resist the temptation even though I knew so few people would know what I was talking about.

When I read Cobalt's reply all I could think of was FT Gordon and TRADOC. However, FT Leonard Wood was pretty bad too, but not nearly as horrific as Gordon.

Just thinking about Gordon makes me feel dirty...I need to go shower.
