Rick McCammon wanted Fang to be more unified than it was. But (most of) the contributors didn't cooperate....

Can't wait for this. The way you've been tying all of the stories together is remarkable, FPW. SUCH a blast!

Looking forward to the next YA novel, too. Jack's my age, so we Gen-X-ers gotta support each other. Loved the references to Bauhaus and "Choose Life" in "Jack - Secret Histories". I remember having a "Choose Death" button on in the Boston subway, and a ruffian came up to me, pointed at it and said, "I'll take you up on that." Nice moment! Wink

I didn't know rough guys like that loved cheesy George Michael songs!

I understand JAck in the YA books a lot better. We are the same age then, and FPW did a PERFECT job.Smile

You'd think that Killing people would make them like you, but it doesn't! it just makes people dead.

Do you realize how much fun you make it for collectors?

I collect the works of quite a few authors, but you are the most collectible.

I love the limited editions, and chase them all. I also love to track the trade hardcovers, and in many cases, the soft covers. I love the short stories too.

You haven't written as much as many authors, but my FPW collection takes up more space and is more prized than all my other author collections.

The traveling circus saga is a terrific example. I have the Freak Show limited edition and paperback. I have the Peobody-... limited (and soon the paperback). This makes for a happy collector.

The real payoff is that you're limited editions often become valuable. Money is tight, and people often can't drop cash for something that is worth less money than they paid for it (like new vehicles). FPW limiteds often sell far higher on Ebay than they did from the publisher. On 12-9-08 The Peabody - Ozymandias Traveling Circus and Oddity Emporium sold, on Ebay, for $102.50. That's terrific! I've learned to pre-order you're limiteds from the publisher. It's a lot cheaper than trying to find them months later.

I used to be a collector. You're never cured, but I'm in recovery now, and I know what you mean.

My name is Little Blues.
And I am a collector.

I bought a book yesterday. Leigh Brackett.
(A little old lady: "Oh, she's good! I love her. She wrote Tarzan!")
And I only bought it for the introduction...

My name is icarus.
And I am a collector.
For Christmas I got for myself a copy of God of the Blade by Joe Lansdale
Only reason I got it is that it is a Companion to the anthology Lords of the Blade
Only reason I spent $100 on Lords of the Blade was ONE short story
(gotta get anything about Bradley Denton's "Blackburn")

Only reason (okay, the main reason) I'm getting He is Legend from Gauntlet Press is FPW's short that mentions Jack although not by name.

That is the main reason I will keep it instead of turning a profit on it

I'm also eagerly anticipating Thursday morning so I can go to Gauntlet's website and preorder Ground Zero and Jack: Secret Circles.

Everyone mark your calendars!
