I figured I'd pass this on and see if anyone else has run into similar trouble.

When I attempted to pick up a copy of BTS today at Borders, I was told the book does not come out till November. I then had them double check it and still was told I must be wrong on it being released yesterday, I saw it with my own eyes in their computer system that the release date shows November 2008.

After just getting home and checking Border's online store, it states its out. The store I visited is in a suburb of Boston.

What gives?

Borders is quite a bit.....horrible. At least in my neck of the woods. Barnes and Noble isnt much better. For some odd reason, the ONLY book store around here that gets in FPW,is my local Books A Million. I get paid on Fri,and they've already got a copy waiting for me under the front desk-I didnt even have to order it. Just called them up yesterday and they took it right outta the back!

FYI-a friend of mine works at Waldenbooks which is owned by Borders. Their entire store computer system is run on MS-DOS!!!! I kid you not! Everytime they have to look for a book for a customer it freezes up the entire system and/or crashes every computer in the store!

No. In fact, I bought it at my Borders just this morning and they had 3 more on the shelf. My only problem is that it was relegated to the horror section and not out front with the other new releases.

And welcome to the board.

This is the price paid for changing the street date. The book was originally slated for November. A promotional opportunity in B&N opened in October, so the date was shifted. Same thing happened with the Bloodline hardcover last year. I can't take my publisher to task for spending extra money on promoting me, but these shifts sometimes are counterproductive.

I was in Waldenbooks last night (subsidiary of Borders) and they had =ONE= copy of BTS on the shelf. If I'd had the dough it would be mine right now.

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.
