But they'd all be closer to Glaeken's age than to Jack's by the time the last sequel is filmed.
Choosing a capable 28-33 year old is a far better strategy when planning out the inevitable RJ movie dynasty. That way he'd be about 45 playing 37-38 when the last one is filmed...way more believable than a 55 year old trying to pull off 37.
It's not a knock against Ed...he's a great actor as are many others mentioned above with the same age range.
It's just gravity.

You REALLY have to look hard to find JGL in that trailer...you can get a better look in the trailer for Uncertainty which is up on the Quicktime trailers sight, right now.
Facially he looks average enough to be Jack but physique-wise he's a stick-man.

Severely against JGL. He is even more average than average. He doesn't have that steaming underlying darkness that eminates from Jack. He'd also have to bulk up quite a bit, cause Jack is no slouch once the shirt comes off.
I'm becoming more and more in favor of Chris Pine, however. especialy after re-watching Star Trek. I think he's got great potential and he's also within age and height range.
I'm realizing that no matter how much I like J-Don, he will be way too old by the time this starts. No matter how much we all love Nathan Fillion, he will always straddle the line between Mal and Castle [and anyone who's ever worked with Whedon is at his beck and call -see Dollhouse-].
After reading Ground Zero, though, I believe my aunt is right about something. Harvey Firestein [sp?] would make a great Abe if he could tone down the gay a bit.

Chris Pine strikes me as having as much personality as, say, Matt LeBlanc.
Having seen only the range required of him in Star Trek, it is too tough to approve.
Does he have the box office mojo overseas that Relativity wants?

Do I look like overseas to you? I don't know if he has the cross continental appeal you're looking for. He is a newer actor, and that's one of the appeals. He doesn't have countless films behind him to compare this role to. The only comparison really, will be to Star Trek, which I can live with. Unlike others. Look at Edward Norton. You now have to compare Jack with Figh Club, the Italian Job, Death to Smoochie, and any other thing he's done. Chris Pine is a virtual slate. He's done like 3 mainstrem movies.
