Wapitikev Wrote:Jacks' mom is a little trickier.

If Jack was about 20-ish when she was killed (Kate hadn't seen Jack for 15 years in Hosts but he was a senior in college the last she saw him after their mom's death) and Tom would have been eary 30s at that time, then she would be late late 40s - early 50s when the incident took place.

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is 52 this year but doesn't look much like Reynolds or Harrington at all...Worthington is a little closer (particularly when he was younger).

If they can find a good actress, the "looks like Jack" thing is not so important to me...just like Kate's hair...supposed to be curley but I'm wiling to watch Naomi Watts with straight hair play her (she's 8 years older than the three frontrunners for Jack, which is exactly the age listed in Hosts).

Although, by the time Hosts is made into a movie, if ever, Naomi watts could easily be 50...so an actress that is mid to late 30s now would be a better choice for 44, by then.

Assuming there IS a Jack movie at some point, I refuse to believe that the Subway Saviour scene won't eventually appear in a sequel.

Sharon Stone is 51 this year and looks passingly like Desmond Harrington.

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):

Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis

On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout

Rebecca Gayheart (no pun intended) is 38 and often appears with curly, brown hair...she would be mid-forties, Kate's age, by the earliest time that Hosts could be shot (approx 7 years from now).

Kate Walsh is 43 this year and would be great as Kate...too bad filming won't begin for at least 7 more years.

1. That's not where I recognize West from at all.
2. Rebecca is a difinite possiblilty.
3. The Nightmare on the Nine scene is totally worth sequeling on its own.

...but the witness, Sandy Palmer, is sort of integral to the Hosts plot...I guess he could be weaved into another completely different story. As a continuity purist I'd like to see the scene stay with the original story.

Those are his most popular roles...he was also in Hannibal Rising, the Forgotten, and Chicago. Any of those ring a bell?

Must have been Chicago, which part did he play?

Fred Casely, the man promising to get Roxie a part in a show.

Fred Casely: You're a star, kid! My little shooting star!

When I think of Kate, I think of Anne Heche although by the time that sequel comes along she will be way to old and I am not being.... I can't even think of the word. I'm not I gues type casting Anne Heche as a lesbian I just pictured her and Ryan Reynolds in Hosts.

Heck if ya wanna type cast how bout Ellen Degeneres or Rosie O'Donnell? If Rosie is Kate then you'd have to make Tom Arnold play Tom.

Not a bad choice acting-wise...but Hosts says Kate is a brunette with naturally curly hair...I've never seen Anne as a brunette so it is difficult for me to visualize.

Dominic West plays a perpetual slime bucket, got it!

Note to Irishkkc 2.0: just because Kate's a lesbian doesn't mean she has to be played by a lesbian. And also Anne Hache has always looked a little anorexic to me. Kate has had two children and an unhappy marraige, I tend to think she'd be a lil' bit squishy around the mid-section.
