Kenji Wrote:In Japan, "The Wire" is showing on "Super! Drama TV", it's Japanese cable channel.

Now I can't see that channel, but I can see from April. The season 3 will begin from April, but I haven't seen season 1 and 2 yet. Is it okay without season 1 and 2?
bones weep tedium Wrote:It'd be just like reading Reborn without having read The Keep or The Touch. It'd still be a good story, but you would be missing a lot of background info on who the characters are/what they're doing/where they've been etc
But you'd prob still enjoy it, even if it isnt the ideal way to watch it.

colburn0004 Wrote:Had to bring this back up for a great tv show. Just started watching this show a few weeks ago and last night I watched the first episode of the fifth season. This show is absolutely amazing. I was kind of skeptical coming into it as I have always been a huge fan of The Shield and was always told this was better. I think they are two different shows completely but it's safe to say The Wire is amazing.
Season 4 was crazy. I have never seen a show that was just not afraid to pull punches and a few things hit pretty hard. The last episode of season 4 could be the best hour of television I have ever seen. Was also nice to see great child actors.
Now on to the final season and I am sad to see the show end. To be tied to these characters so closely in a short amount of time of watching just shows how great the show is.

The death I hated most of all was Omar's. I may be biased as he was a favorite character of mine but to have the death in the middle of an episode, and to be by Kavon(i think his name was) was just sort of a let down. I wanted so much for him to get some justice for Butch.
colburn0004 Wrote:On a second note is was amazing to see how many of the characters were based off real people and in Snoops case were even played by themselves.

I was surprised to see the one kid with braids takes care of 7 other children and makes sure they get to school. I love how these shows recycle ppl. I'm pretty sure Preston is the same hot-head kid from Oz. And the skinny guy who's on Fringe now.
