I mean, think of it. You could have one or two holographic pages, the rest could contain a mix of sigils and english.

There are multiple versions of the necronomicon available on the market and nobody's done anything with them yet. ( although the version I want is nowhere to be seen. Ya know, the one that contains the words Klattu Veratta Nic... um... nickle? Nicorette?... Well, you know!)

Here's an idea. Let each person on the board create something they believe would be in the Compendium. (lets say three pages max) Turn them into FPW for the final say and rewrite, and and put them all in a book titled the Compendium of Srem. It doesn't have to comply by the rules of the original Compendium, (that would be impossible) but it could be a lot of fun for the whole board. It's a project I would think about and maybe even help put it together.

Good idea. Nothing like evil creativity to bring people closed, eh?Wink

You'd think that Killing people would make them like you, but it doesn't! it just makes people dead.

Since from what I understand we have several artists on the board that could be awesome.

Jim, you forgot Simon's 3 sequels, and, my personal favourite, his 31st Anniversary Edition...of a book first written 1250 years ago!

I have the original Simon paperback (it is available in a copyright infringed PDF online, BTW) and the main problem with books of that ilk was summed up by Lovecraft himself:

"As for seriously-written books on dark, occult, and supernatural themes — in all truth they don’t amount to much. That is why it’s more fun to invent mythical works like the Necronomicon and Book of Eibon." - HPL letter to Willis Conover.

However, referring to Simon's book as a seriously-written work is giving it far too much credit.

...and if I never see an edition of Necronomicon Ex Mortis with Ash's fearful utterances, it will be too soon. Damn you Sam Rami! Damn you to Heck!

On the other hand, A fan-created homage of Srem sounds fun. Let's hope it has more luck than the fan-driven, web-based, but now defunct Necronomicon project.

Mark me down for the section on "Cthulhu is a pussy compared to the Otherness."

Heh.

PS - the Repairman Jack wallpaper is about 35% done.

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):

Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis

On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout

Hail to the king, Baby.

(BTW, my son came within an inch of being named Ash, so you know how I feel. Not joking. My girls fam actually threatened me over it.)

A church? I'm noy so sure. It would weaken the Otherness and piss Rasalom of something fierce. He would have to break it up.
