I was recruited years ago while down the shore. I was lent a copy of The Select, read it in one night. I was hooked. I've recruited my wife, most of her family and their significant others (10+), friends, neighbors, co-workers, and the mailman!

You can see some of my story in the thread New bargain editions post #28.

Cheers,
Ox

Automatic Jack Wrote:I kind of like the semi-cultish status the RJ books have right now, with devoted fans, yet still under the radar. It seems like something Jack himself would appreciate if he knew he was a character in a series of novels.

Re-read Bloodlines and By the Sword... He is! and he is rather spooked by it.

Trying to be nice

You'd think that Killing people would make them like you, but it doesn't! it just makes people dead.

I brought another convert aboard the other day. Gave him The Tomb and Legacies and The Keep. He came by yesterday and plundered my already sparse collection of my third copy of Black Wind and my Conspiracies, All The Rage and Hosts PBs. I'm usually 3 deep on everything but there's almost nothing "left in stock" right now. I've got 5 going right now.

I need an excel spreadsheet to keep track of everything.....

Cthulhu for President!

Why vote for a lesser evil? I can think of none better than the great old one, who should return from his slumber to take over the U.S. government and make this country a whole hell of a lot better as the leader of our executive branch. Or destroy it and drive everyone insane, kill us all, or something really nasty! Remember, Cthulhu for President, why vote for the lesser of two evils? Wink

Wouldn't it be a gas and a half to have Paul sign one of your books as P. Frank Winston?

I was converted in either June or July last year. Some friendly Borders employee found me staring blankly at the horror section, not sure what to pick up (I had already gone through all the Dean Koontz and Stephen King I had any interest in). I hadn't read a book in years, but wanted to start again. I read through the Tomb in a few days, then finished all the published RJ books in about 6 months. That was followed by several others. Now I've started collecting too.

I've purchased several copies of the Tomb to give away (keep buying out the local Borders) and have also loaned out a copy a few times. I think I've tried to convert 5 people with an actual book, and several verbally. Not bad for just a year! Most seemed to like it, but I haven't followed up to see if they read any others.

Kenji Wrote:I recruited my girlfriend, but she can't read English. So she can't join to this site.

She read all of Japanese edition RJ novels, AC, and other Japanese edition's stuff. She get mad she still can't read Crisscross....:nonod:

So sometimes I say "I do read it for you". But she says "No! Stop it! I want to read it by my own eyes!" :nono:
That's cute :p It's awesome they're available in Japanese. Wish they were available in more languages to get more international fans.

I think I might have converts I don't know about; I requested my public library to get the old Jack books they were missing, and order the new ones as they've come out. I hope to have converted some strangers Big Grin
