Hi everyone. I've been enjoying Mr. Wilson's work for a while now and lurking on this board. Today I figured I'd post after learning the concept of Westphalian sovereignty the concept of nation-state sovereignty. I cannot help but believe this could be the basis of the Westphalen name.

No searches in this forum resulted in any information regarding this. So, I ask, does anyone know if Westphalian sovereignty was an inspiration to the Westphalen name?

Mike, [shakes head slowly] the new people may not know how to deal with your particular brand of wisdom. Wink

I'm sure that FPW himself will answer this one, if he doesn't need to keep it as part of the secret, Secret History of Jack.

Welcome GBW, you'll have a good time here.

Probably something as simple as the ouija board, phone book, or thin (haunted?) air. But it's fun to try to find insight behind details of books. Smile

No, it wasn't. I simply liked the sound of it. Sorry -- no ouija board involved.

Well, gbw, Wapidikev was right. I should have qualified my answer. Something like, "Well, this is just an educated guess, but every writer I know uses the ouija board, so Paul probably does too. It's certainly where I get my lyrics."

Which just goes to show you that Mike can type in complete sentences...he just finds it more convenient to be cryptic/homourous.

Such a definitive answer in such a short time. I'm impressed. Thanks!

BTW, I'll try not to lurk so much in the future. Although I must admit that I try to avoid spoilers since I haven't read Harbingers or Bloodline yet.

Welcome aboard GBW. We're an eclectic bunch, but love the works of FPW, our "common thread".
