Although I haven't seen one in fifty years, that's what I would have said too . . . Horseshoe Crab.

Some species of catfish grow to enormous size -- the largest Blue Catfish caught in the Mississippi River weighed 124 pounds. I wonder if the same thing is possible with some sub-species of horsehoe crab.

If I remember correctly, this photo is of a species of catfish caught in the Mekong River in Tailand, and it weighed over 600 pounds.

But yes, that's kind of what I was thinking of.

I wonder if some sub-species of horseshoe crab might be able to grow larger than what we would consider "normal" size.

While I enjoy the idea of undiscovered species suddenly becoming known to the world... the lack of any object in the pictures to add some sort of perspective irks me. It's probably just a two-inch-long tadpole shrimp. Yeah, I'm a buzzkill. But here are some confirmed beasts.
