I thought that Night Watch was a flawed but promising film, and thought that it was well worth a watch. There were loads of problems with the story, with plot holes and contradictions and all sorts. I guess that any problems it has I chalked up to a lack of budget.
I was looking forward to Daywatch, and is one of the very few films I have bought off the internet because I can't wait to spot it in a shop/find it for free online.
I was really disappointed, and turned it off halfway through. All the same problems from the first one were still there - weird acting, confusing/contradicting plot details, OTT visual effects - and I suddenly realized that the problems with Night Watch weren't those of a gifted creative team battling against a limited budget and a restrictive studio system, but the problem with Night Watch was it was made by an utter tool.
Badly paced, inconsistent tone, incomprehensible plot, bad acting, cringe-indicing 'cock rock' soundtrack. . . the film made me ANGRY.
SO I turned it off.
. . . . and then ranted about it on here.
I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."
