Spoilers!!!!!!!

What I am hearing for Series 4 is Sir Ben Kingsley as Davros, plus Joan Collins as The Rani at some point during the season. For Buffy fans, James Marsters (a.k.a. Spike) does a guest shot in the first episode. It sounds like RTD is pullilng out all the stops for the Series 4 finale, with Rose & family, Martha, Sarah Jane Smith, and Captain Jack all on hand for the final episodes. As I understand it, David Tennant has confirmed for the four specials in '09. The BBC has also already commissioned a Series 5 in '10, but absolutely no casting has been done yet because it is so far out. I gather the reason they commissioned it so far in advance was simply to prevent any rumors of cancellation.

My best guess (and this is *only* a guess) is that David Tennant will probably leave after '09. I base that guess simply on the fact that historically most actors only last three seasons in the role, combined with the fact that Tennant is clearly very much in demand now. I also think it is very likely that Russell T. Davies will leave after the four specials in '09, and that Steven Moffat will take over running the show. He clearly understand what makes the character tick. I only hope that if he really does take over the show, that he will bring back Sally Sparrow as a regular companion. But that's just a fanboy wish. I thought that Blink was hands-down the best episode of Series 3, and probably one of the single best episodes in the entire history of the show.

Spoilers for Season 3!

I don't know what you have seen in the US, but The Master already made an appearance at the end of Season 3 and was defeated. Also, the producers have had a lot of criticism from various 'old school' fans for various things, but their response has always been 'look at the ratings'. In the UK it is more successful than ever, the producers won't do anything just 'to keep old fans happy', they don't need to.

Never say never, the Master may come back, again. Sarah Jane may be involved with UNIT (who are coming back as you say), and Davros may return, but the only one confirmable at the moment is UNIT making an appearance.

As much as I liked the old show I really enjoy this new version even more so.
I would love to see Paul McGann return as a guest as the other doctor (maybe in a flashback about the Time War) as well as the truth out that the Doctor's mother was human (the producers did say the tv film was part of the history/storyline and would of course explain why the Doctor was held in distain by many of the Time Lord elite)

Sorry to bring up a dead thread, I'm good at it as I catch on to things late it seems. I just finished the first season of the new Doctor who and I can't get enough of this show. Really hate that the ninth doctors run is ending so soon, I loved the chemistry between Rose and The Doctor. I'm waiting for netflix to send me the next part of the season with the new doctor, but I'm already sad that the previous doctor's run was so short. Then I'm not looking forward to Rose leaving the show either dang it. LOL

Second resurrection for this thread

I Just wondered where the US is with the latest Dr Who

For Neil Gaiman fans he wrote the 4th episode of the latest series "the doctor's wife"

A very strange episode, but then I would expect no less from Mr Gaiman

Certainly one to lookout for if you a fan of Neil

You'd think that Killing people would make them like you, but it doesn't! it just makes people dead.

I guess this quite popular in the US now as that is when it was aired in the UK as well

I'm liking this series a lot, despite it's general weirdness!
