The new DOCTOR WHO series filmed a 7 minute comic scene, which I understand will be included on the dvd, for CHILDREN IN NEED. The new episode for the new season (VOYAGE OF THE DAMNED) starts now with a time malfunction that causes Peter Davison (Dr.#5) to appear with David Tennant on the Tardis. Very cute scene and could be viewed on youtube under the title "Doctor Who-Timecrash."

Yes, I got them. But Hayakawa publishing released only 5 novels in '80s in Japan. Now they're very rare books.
My favorite episode was "The Parting of the Ways" in 1st season. That was the best season finale! Especially, when Rose's mother brought truck for Rose, I couldn't stop tears.
I hear in the upcoming season we will see Hugh Grant and Sir Derek Jacobi. I even heard that Toby Keith is a fan and someone said he would like to be on the show (as a redneck!). Season 1 had Joe Montana in the episode DALEK.
The Master is coming back as is Davros. Also Sarah Jane, some of the UNIT gang and Rose!

Jacobi is in the third season (with Roses replacement Martha Jones), but Hugh Grant was not in it and I've not heard about him being in S4.
Sarah Jane was in S2 for one episode and has since been in her own spin off called The Sarah Jane Adventures. Done for kids, shown after they get back from school, the show did have some good episodes and is worth looking up.
UNIT is returning in S4 according to reports, as are the Sontarans, but Davros is not confirmed. However, RT Davies (the showrunner) was asked recently by a kid about Davros, and his reply was 'we'll see what we can do'.
Kylie Minogue is the big guest star in the Christmas special this year 'Voyage of the Damned', but I'm not sure how popular she is in the US (she's bigger than Madonna here in the UK).
After S4 they will be taking a year off, but will produce four special episodes to be shown throughout 2009. This is to accommodate David Tennent doing some stage work.

Apparently Rose will be returning for some of S4, and I have nothing better to do with my time than follow Dr Who production gossip.

I don't know what you have seen in the US, but The Master already made an appearance at the end of Season 3 and was defeated. Also, the producers have had a lot of criticism from various 'old school' fans for various things, but their response has always been 'look at the ratings'. In the UK it is more successful than ever, the producers won't do anything just 'to keep old fans happy', they don't need to.
Never say never, the Master may come back, again. Sarah Jane may be involved with UNIT (who are coming back as you say), and Davros may return, but the only one confirmable at the moment is UNIT making an appearance.
