Are there only going to be THREE young adult Repairman Jack books? It could easily be a case of Oh-Barry-you-idiot-you-missed-that-part-of-the-news-didn't-you? syndrome, but for some reason I only noticed this when I went to the Overlook's page and saw the word "trilogy" pop up in regards to the YA RJ books.

If it is just a trilogy, that's too bad; I've been hoping there would be more, even with the all-encompassing limits of time.

I'm not looking past the trilogy. I'm using it to have fun and set up certain events in the endgame of the adult books. If it's a big success and the publisher waves many $$ at me, I may do more.

Pfffffffffffffffft...

...mokay. I can take three if it's to help "set up certain events in the endgame of the adult books." Yeah, that'll be fine.

*turns to everyone on the RJ Message Board* BUY THOSE YOUNG ADULT BOOKS, PEOPLE - MAKE IT A BIG SUCCESS AND PAY ANYTHING YOU CAN TO THE PUBLISHER!!!

ImDeranged Wrote:With the YA market the way it is I can see it becoming a BIG success, especially if the movie comes out by the time the 3rd books out. Stephanie Meyers has a huge hit on her hands w/ the Twilight, New Moon & Eclipse books. They're even seeing crossover outside the YA sales. And even Horowitz's Alex Rider books have strong sales.

And if for some reason they don't sale and you still want someone to wave $$ at you. Wait for the Writers strike to end and then you can pitch the CW a new Series. "Jake Fix-It" it'll be a show about a teenage kid that's a computer genius who can fix problems w/out leaving a trace. He stays off the grid and unknown to all of the people he involves because he works alone. For instance he could foil "Old Man Cranston's" real estate scam by making him think a group of stoners caught him and figured it out, "I would have got away with it if it weren't for those meddlesome kids" And using other pop culture references like updating 'The Wire' from "The Sting" to fit the internet age amongst others to solve peoples problems. Every other "Fix" could be lifted from an old movie or show. They say Hollywood is void of new ideas how about we just find an original way to rip off the old ones. I mean it's not like "Jake Fix-It" would be an original character anyway (just one whose rights haven't already been sold to Hollywood Big Grin )
I've heard great things about the Twilight series too, hoping to check them out over winter break. Maybe that age range is the place to hit now that tv and online gaming's sucked away older kids' time and souls. :p
