SPOILER! Highlight to read.

Early on in the latest RJ novel (BLOODLINE) someone mentions to Jack that a certain individual Jack knew, (Walter Erskine) has recently died. Erskine was the one who passed the Dat Tay Vao on to Doctor Bulmer in THE TOUCH, and died immediately after.

So! The events in THE TOUCH begin to take place at the same time as the events in BLOODLINE -- both novels are taking place at the same time.

This is the first really positive linking of a timeline in any of the Adversary Cycle/RJ novels that I have seen -- or at least . . . noticed.

I'm just sentimental that way, I like to leave the best for last!Smile But you're right, with some of the revelations in the RJ series, it would be best to read "The Tomb" first. But "The Touch" needs to be read before they are to far into the RJ books. Otherwise they'll miss some of the connections that begin even with "All The Rage". (That's the first connection i've found)

I know what you mean, especially about the "Asian in the Pacer," and the name of the doctor on Jacks wrist band when he's in the hospital. Although that's a link to another novel, it still takes place before the events in that other novel.

Ultimately -- for me at least -- it doesn't matter, because I do/have/will re-read the books again in chronological order. Big Grin Wink
