Having just read "Cuts" in Soft & Others last week, I think you may be understating your true feelings a bit! I read that story in another anthology years ago, but re-reading it now, knowing that it was influenced by your personal experience with the movie industry...yikes!
'Cuts' remains one of my favorite short stories ever, precisely because I knew the story behind it when I read it the first time.
I took my (then) wife to see 'The Keep' in theaters...
She'd not read any of FPW's works at the time, and asked me when we left the theater why I was so enamored of his work, since (from the movie) she could see no reason for it. =(
Later that night, I began reading 'Healer' to her... then she understood. =)

Well no luck at the bootleg shop on Ali for The Keep so far. It seems like most of what these guys have are burned from DVDs or filmed in the theaters, so unless they had a bootleg they could burn from I don't think I will find it out here, but I will have to search the other 2 binders when I get back to that camp.
I tried to ask the guy about it (with only half seriousness of course) but he didn't seem to understand what I was saying...oh well...but I did get 6 movies for $20 so I didn't make out too bad.
