I hadn't heard that it was going to be turned into a play. So if it is that terrible, who did they get for the lead??

I can imagine it's awful. I can't imagine Young Frankenstein without Peter Boyle!

So a bunch of unknowns basically, in a terrible play....doubt it will boost any careers much.

So true! I also think a lot of the movie's humor came from being filmed in black & white and all soft-focus like the classic horror movies of the '30s and '40s. There's no way to get that same tongue-in-cheek homage from a live play.
Sounds like it was not a very good idea to even attempt it.

[SIZE="3"]I don't usually agree with the critics (except in the case of "The Producers") so I'm waiting to see how this is reviewed (it's still in previews). I can't see them loving it, although many in the audience seemed to. Which I don't understand. There were laughs, yes, but mostly from lines that originated in the film.[/SIZE]
