i have read each book as it came out, i remember being blown away when the books began to connect in the AC. I have spread the news about jack to as many people as possible and usually advise to read the cycle, personally i am like a junkie and don't have the willpower to resist a book that i know involves him.

Ah--that's where my patience comes in. I was not into FPW at the time of the novel's release (actually, now that I think about it, I was 10). I've only been reading the whole AC/RJ series in the past four years, well-after the slow buildup of Legacies et al. Coming into the massive world(s) of FPW, I saw that I had two options: read the ending first, or act like the end has not even been written yet (to any extent), and wait. I chose the latter.

I had never heard of FPW before my brother recommended the RJ books to me. So I have read all the RJ books from The Tomb up to Haunted Air (which I finished today on my lunch break). I'm buying the next one tonight on my way home. When I finish that, I'll go back and read The Keep, then the 3-5 books in the AC. Then I plan on reading the remaining RJ books as they come out and when FPW says they're finished, I'll read Nightworld.

At least, that's the plan. If no RJ book appears for a long time after Crisscross (I think that's the next one, isn't it?) I may break down and read Nightworld early. But I'm going to try not to.

Not reading Nightworld?

Saving it until all the other Repairman Jack books have been written?

The thought alone is, well, disturbing.

I read Nightworld some time ago, and I don't feel that I missed anything by reading the later Repairman Jack books after the fact. Nightworld is one of my favorite FPW books, and I would be amiss to let that jewel sit on a shelf unread for time out of mind. There are an infinite number of books / stories that could be written inbetween The Tomb and Nightworld...I guess I'm just not a firm believer in saving the best for last. I read FPW's stuff as soon as it hits the shelf...sooner if I possible.

For God's sake, people...What if you get hit by a bus? Are you prepared to die not knowing how the Adversary Cycle ends?

Exactly! The HORROR.......!!!

For Barry and LVerner: Do you own copies of Nightworld already, since this version will become more scarce once the new version is printed?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Same to you!

Now all we have to do is avoid spoilers for awhile....hopefully not for too long (not to suggest that I hope the RJ series comes to an end soon).

I believe it stated that you would be able to start pre-ordering on Jan 1, 2005.

It's not about "missing" anything. I am purposely holding off because I want to see it all happen all at once. Then--then--I can go back and read the original for the "alternate ending" where Jack will have to learn everything all at once.

I've heard so many spoilers from people on this message board who don't put up warnings, I prettymuch know how at least the very ending of Nightworld ends...but I don't know everything about that book.

Nay, I'll be patient. Call it a test of wits and will.

Yes I do! Two copies.
