Maggers Wrote:I love the Island. I love watching action on the Island. I tolerate the flashbacks, and now it seems flash fowards, because they are informative. But the Island is so interesting and so lovely and so not of this world that I would hate to have the series rooted in life back on everyone's respective mainlands.

I say fiddlesticks to that, though you could very well be right.

Those are almost the exact same comments I gave to a friend of mine the morning after the finale. He also suggested the old switcheroo theory. I hope it ain't so.

A couple of posts have theorised that the boat has Dharma people on it

If this were the case, why would they need to get a fix on the island via the phone - they surely know how to get there as they have done so in the past.

One of the great things about Lost is looking for the links, something I love doing with FPW books. Ever wondered if that is why so many of us here like Lost?

There were so many parts in the finale that I loved; so many parts that made my shout at the TV. Sayid breaking the guy's neck was terrific, as was Sawyer shooting Tom because he 'didn't believe him.' Two great moments among many.
As for the flash-forward. Bloody hell, that whole thing posed so many new questions. I guess one thing's for sure - when they finally get rescued, it's not going to be a happy ending.
And I think Naomi's boat is definitely shaping up to be the Dharma boat. But like Britfan said, why wouldn't they already have known where the island is? So many questions, nothing's ever black and white in Lost.
One thing's for certain though - the next eight months are gonna crawl by!

Some random thoughts....

The authors have said that Desmond's near failure to push the button in the hatch after he followed and killed his hatch mate is the definitive reason for the plane crash. They said that outright on the recent summary of LOST events that aired a couple of weeks ago. So if just nearly missing pushing the button caused a magnetic pulse strong enough to wreck all the electronics on the plane and bring it down, then what kind of havoc would have been caused by not pushing the button at all? We know the explosion of the hatch destroyed all the electronic mechanisms on the island, the means by which Ben kept in touch with... whomever. Maybe the electromagnetic burst was so explosively strong that it altered the space-time continuum in some way.

And by they way, whatever happened to Desmond's hatch mate (the guy who taught Sayid how to torture); is he really dead?

How many other folks may not really be dead?
Charlie
the 2 who were bitten by the spiders and buried alive
Desmond's hatch mate
Locke's father
and many more....

Do you supposed they will all rise from the dead at the conclusion of the show?

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Here's a question. It might just be me missing (or forgetting) something obvious, which, in my defense, would be easy to do on a show as complex as Lost.
Three tents were marked to let the Others know where the pregnant people were, but I can only think of Sun (defnitely pregnant) and Kate (possibly pregnant). Am I missing or forgetting an obvious person here?

You're also forgetting they moved the attack forward one night, so why would Juliet mark the tents a night early?

Also, if Dharma was effectively usurped on the island by the hostiles several years ago, then why are they still doing food drops?

I love the show, but there are holes aplenty.

Juliet marked the tents with sea shells so some such thing. The female commando in the group noted that "Juliet did her job." I guess the commandos didn't take the thought one step further and ask why she marked them early.

I thought about that, too, but does Dharma know that for sure? I bet cagey Ben has set up some sort of system whereby he can contact Dharma to string them along.

There are several other women amongst the survivors, people we don't know, the Island Extras. I suspect Ben meant any and all of them when he was referencing other possibly pregnant women.

Well, they did say that "Juliette may not have had time to mark the tents yet."

I don't know why Dharma is still making food drops. Maybe they set up automatic drops and it was subcontracted out to someone else, then the corporation is so bureaucractically huge that it never got deleted from the budget or the order to stop the drops never came.

If the EMP and destruction of the "button station" destroyed all electrical systems, why did they have lights on the other side of the island? Why do the walkies work? But it would explain why the sonic barrier didn't kill eyepatch-guy.

Juliette may not have determined three women were pregnant, but just marked three tents so they could blow up more people.

I like to think that it was niether a flash forward nor a flashback. It could have been a possibility, it could have been nothing, but the producers said they were going to set us up for the plan for the ending. I guess we'll see what happens then. I'm hoping it doesn't end like that though. That would be worse than it all being in Hurley's head, which still hasn't been difinitively disproven in my opinion, so I'm sticking to it.

Hey, Dave! I didn't know you had Lost in the UK already? Are you guys all caught up with us?
