Why didn't Kate question Juliette more about WHY SHE HAD THE KEY to the handcuffs?

Why couldn't the smoke monster just go over the "wall" like Sayid, Locke, and Kate did?

What, nobody watched it last night?

I watched.

So, now that the "others" have left, why do the beachlings still have to live on the beach. Why don't they move in and take over the houses with pool tables and such?

At one time, I liked John Locke's character. Not much right now.

1) Too soon, they return to camp next week.

2) Can't believe anything Juliet says.

3) Something to do with sound but the smoke is a msytery not likely to be answered soon.

Not one of the better episodes but it was fun to watch Kate kick Juliet's butt and Hurley manuipulate the heck out of Sawyer.

She looks like a Burmese, and I love Burmese cats. I had two, mom and daughter, who've gone on to kitty heaven. They were hilarious and wonderful fun.

Did Squeaky actually deign to wear the crown for the picture or was it Photo Shopped onto to her dear little head? Either way, it's a great pic.

Hey Maggers, sorry I didn't reply sooner. I hadn't seen your post. I have no idea what breed Squeaky is. Mio found her half dead in the park when she was just 6-7 weeks old. She had a huge hole in her head and looked like death. But we nursed her back to health and now she's simply gorgeous and the leader of the cats. She has the shiniest black coat ever! The tiara was photoshopped on.

Did I miss something or do we know where Locke went?

And why did they leave Juliette?

So many questions and so little answers. Kate summed it up when she said something like this to Juliette: "Welcome to the wonderful world of not knowing what's going on."

Since the season is almost over, you're going to have to stop watching it pretty soon, anyway. May as well put off that decision until September or October sometime.

The scene I liked the BEST? Juliette comes into the pool room and Kate is hiding, swinging the pool cue at about neck level. BAMN! Juliette ducks beneath the swing and the next thing you see is Kate doing a mid-air somersault to crash on the deck. It was done really well.

Hurley was good working on Sawyer. I guess that sets things up for a clash of leadership styles in the upcoming future.

Yes, that first scene between Kate and Juliette was well done. Still, I will repeat my earlier point about the abandoned Others compound, Jack and Kate et al were heading back to the beach at the end of the episode so we don't know what their plans are - will they move in or choose to stay away because the Others may come back and treat them as trespassers?

Juliette is indeed a liar and any true thing she says is either as a means to further her own agenda (while leaving out inconvenient facts) or if the telling does not matter to her agenda. As to the black smoke, why can't it flow over high barriers? We don't know enough. Juliette did say (as an explanation after producing a key to the handcuffs and then disarming and then rearming the barrier in front of an astonished Kate) that the barrier keeps the black smoke out. Is this a limitation of the black smoke or merely a plot convenience? We shall see.

One thing I have noticed in recent episodes is more of an attempt to clarify the time frame of the show - that they have only been on the island for about three months though the show is more than half way through its third season. With all the jumping around between storylines it seemed longer to me.

Susan beat me to posting about the comparison between last week's episode and an Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode (especially the episode where the convict plans his escape by being buried alive, only to find that the guy who's supposed to dig him up is lying next to him--dead).

So, as I figured, this week's episode of LOST was back on track, more or less. Sadly, it didn't quite pick up with Locke's father bound and gagged. Juliet is most definitely a spy (as may Locke be in the Others' camp). This may not have been a great episode, but at least it moved the plot along.

P.S. Doesn't the Smoke Monster look like the Smoke Monster from the original Outer Limits show? Lots of references to old TV shows if you pay attention. But they may be Red Herrings as the flashbacks seem to be. Sighhhhh....

If it makes you feel any better Lisa, I read recently the producers are trying to get next season to be the last. I think they know they are losing viewers and they're struggling to keep the mystery up. So I think that if next season is the last AND they do an uninterrupted season starting in Jan. (ala "24") next season could be really really good.

That's really interesting, Marc. I hope it's true.

I have nothing against mysteries and such, but when that's the only thing that makes a show good, it becomes a problem to maintain realistically. It seems like the characters are doing things because the writers make them, not because that's what would naturally happen (yes, I know smoke monsters and such are not "natural," but you know what I mean). Does anyone else see that or am I just being picky? I think I am a pretty patient viewer. I watched 7 seasons of the X-Files without becoming unduly annoyed.

The series has my interest. I think no matter what the writers have done or will do....I'll keep watching. I just keep having this feeling about Hurley. I've posted my thoughts, I won't bore every one with a re-hash. It'll be interesting to see just how this series ends.
