That was the first thing I thought when I saw her also. But, yeah, that wouldn't make any sense (if that's a valid reason on this show).

I didn't notice a resemblance to Ruth either but I had already sort of forgotten about her. Although that's an interesting idea since Desmond may have changed the outcome by not letting Charlie die. Until I get another look at that scene, I am temporarily assuming it is someone Penny sent to look for Desmond.

Now we know where "brother" originated.

I had so forgotten about Ruth that I hadn't a clue as to whom you guys were talking about. But that's the Scots girl Desmond left at the alter before he joined the monks. Desmond was not altogether a well-wrapped individual, even before he got to the island.

I thought the person in the helmet is somewhat dark skinned, and really does resemble Sanjaya.

Too true; that's the first thought I had when I heard "brother" out of the brother's mouth. Big Grin

And that photo on the brother's desk did look photoshopped, but I think it's supposed to be the real deal, whatever that may be on this show. I thought the white-haired woman was a figment of Desmond's imagination when she appeared in the long ago episode where she told Desmond all about his fate.

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Smile Yeah, in a way it does.

A friend of mine gave me this link which is somebody's recap of the episode.

Here is the picture of the parachutist:

This quote from that site cracked me up:

Quote:Meanwhile, Desmond and the B-Team are sitting around a campfire on a beach when they hear a helicopter crash into the ocean and see a flashing red light (a parachute) falling from the sky. Desmond leads them towards it and Charlie’s impending death. At the last second Desmond comes to his senses and saves Charlie’s life, but at what cost? The whole time its been obvious that Desmond believes that the person coming to the island is his ex-girlfriend Penelope. Imagine his surprise when it turns out to be:

That’s right, its the kid from Temple of Doom who collapsed in Dr’ Jones’s arms after escaping from the evil clutches of Amrish Puri and his army of call center workers.

Roll credits.

I thought the parachutist said something just before she passed out. What was it?

I think she said "Desmond" but I'm not positive.

American Idol had just ended, and Sanjaya was finally voted off. I switched to LOST, and when Desmond pulled the helmet off the skydiver, I yelled, "OMG, it's SANJAYA!" That skydiver looks like Sanjaya. My lord, we can't get away from him! I had friends call me afterwards and they were yelling the same thing.

You know, if they had actuyally done that, it would have been the funniest thing to ever happen in the history of the world. :p I can't remember the last time a persona was thrust upon me so strongly. Yes, I can. Yahoo Serious from the late 80's.

I hate them equally.

Now Chris, whaddya gotta go dumpin' on Yahoo Serious for? You know deep in your heart that he is salvation of all mankind. He will rise again, and the enlightened will follow him!

I think he did rise again only to fall back almost as fast as he did the first time. Big Grin I'd say that he's a no talent bum but I never did see Young Einstein. I remember the way the Hollywood machine tried to force him on me though. It was brutal. Everywhere I went for like a month and a half he was there. Leering at me with that stupid haircut of his. They were billing him as the second coming of Christ and when his movie bombed beyond my wildest dreams I laughed and laughed and laughed. :p

Okay, stay with me here....
Last night I had a dream. About Lost. (You all still there? Good!) I dreamt that there is great significance with any occurance of rain on this show. Consider the following: it was raining when (in Desmond's vision) Charlie was killed by the arrow; it was raining when Desmond had his flashback/forward of Charlie busking; on more than one occasion a cast member has said it's going to rain and sure enough it does, the most memorable being when Locke said it was going to rain in one minute. I think Juliet has predicted similarly too. And (and this is the Big Reveal of my dream, if you will) way back in Season two when Ana-Lucia shot Shannon, it was raining for one set of people (be it the Shannon set or the Ana-Lucia set, I can't remember) but not for the other set. Now, at the time I put this down to a continuity error. But now? After my dream, and after so many 'rain occurances' I'm not so sure.
Of course, I should maybe just stop eating cheese before I go to sleep...
Anyone have any thoughts?
