I'd suggest either Simon Wincer or Frank Darabont who have both done excellent work directing period-piece book adaptations.
Wincer did Lonesome Dove - arguably the best book-to-film adaptation ever.
Darabont did The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Again, brilliant work. Since Darabont has done more films dealing with the supernatural, he'd be my first pick.

webby Wrote:Well, that would be nice. So, who's sending Jackson a copy of the book to get him interested?
Seriously though, Jackson leans toward fantasy and Wincer toward westerns, so I'll still make Frank Darabont my first choice. Hey, maybe I should send him a copy of The Keep!
Scott Miller Wrote:Oh yeah. I said that The Keep is sort of like The Hobbit, a stand-alone that ties into a trilogy. So he does The Keep, then he takes a huge cast for the better part of three years to make Reborn, Reprisal and Nightworld at the same time. Works for me.
ccosborne3 Wrote:Reborn and Reprisal would make excellent somewhat low budget horror flicks.

Give him a few years, and he could play Glaeken, also.
