I decided to read Conspiracies again and the idea occurred to me that it would be totally awesome to have a RJ convention in New York City. Maybe in the same area the SESOUP convention convened (Hells Kitchen), I for one would be there……….

The first one was in Baltimore, if I'm not mistaken.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

We've never had one in NY. GUs have been in:

Baltimore
Atlanta
Chicago
Walt Disney World
Boston

NYC is on "the list" of future venues along with London and NJ, where FPW lives. Smile This year we may do it in Chicago again as one of the core members is getting married and we may plan it around that. However, we have not made a final decision. We'd also love to do it in London and there has also been talk of a "GU cruise." For cities, we try to keep it close to where a core member is so we have a local to guide us. Now that we have Maggers, NYC is a great possibility. Smile

Hey Lisa:

That's great news about Marc.

Good thing I pull my head out of the shadows now and then
to catch up on things. Big Grin

Just my two cents...but I think it would be fun to go for a "SESOUP" Theme
for the next GU...however, just a loose-getogether of board fans has always
worked in the past, and would surely do so in the future.

For future consideration....

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
