I went to ST: The Experience a couple of years ago. It was pretty neat - especially "the mission" on the shuttle craft. It was also cool eating at Quark's. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of staying at the Hilton too. Well for 1 night. I woke up the next morning and found about 4 inches of gross looking water standing in the tub when I went to shower. After discussing this with them for over an hour, I got half my night's stay back and I moved to the Luxor. I think mid-April is a good time to be in Vegas. It's warm enough to feel like summer (to me anyway) by then.

Combining two of my fave things in the world at one time. Star Trek and F. Paul Wilson! Truly it would be a sign from The Heavens! Wink

Q Who? Wink Big Grin

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

[QUOTE=Lisa]We've never had one in NY. GUs have been in:

Baltimore
Atlanta
Chicago
Walt Disney World
Boston

We've discussed our preferences here but aren't getting real serious about an RJ convention; I'd like to hear FPW's opinion on the matter. I'm down for N.Y.C., on the west side, but will go with the flow. Vegas has no character, fine for indulging one's-self but not for getting together as a group and enjoying our mutual interest........Just my opinion.......But I'd enjoy sipping single malt scotch and discussing the nuances and subtleness of Dr. Wilson's genius. He's created a unique world, just like Lovecraft or Tolken, and we have the opportunity to gather as a group while the story unfolds and even talk to the author; possibly contributing to future literary events in the RJ series. We do it now via the web-site but it can be a real paradigm in respect to interactive fan participation. It’s an opportunity to have a whole lot of fun……….Again just my opinion.

No, no, that's not what we do! We mostly sit around telling fart jokes and laughing.

I agree with that opinion. Vegas is not for me. If something were held there, I'd go just to meet everybody, but it's not a place I'd willingly go to otherwise.

Kaye and I spent a night there once in the early '80's . . . that was enough.

I've driven through Vegas twelve times so far this year. I was never even tempted to stop.

Does anyone have a problem with Branson Missouri? It's a fun town and centrally located. Just an option.
