Maybe Paul means he's a guy who looks young even as he ages? We've all seen men and women like that.

That was my take as well. I figured that the Ally wasn't going to make the same mistake twice, and poor Glaeken is stuck with immortality again.

Hmmmm...maybe it could go both ways.

Maybe, but I choose to also believe that Glaeken is stuck with the immortality. Otherwise it would go to Jack and then he'd have to watch both Gia and Vicky and everyone else he cares about get old, maybe horribly ill, and die while he stays young. At least Glaeken is used to it! :p

I got just the opposite. The only reason for the Ally to be pruning away Jack's "branches" is because he's the heir.

Maybe we're using "heir" differently. But please clue me in, Webby--

Isn't the whole point of an heir that they exist while the current holder of a title is around - i.e heir to the throne is only an heir because the current king is still in place!

Once Glaeken dies Jack will no longer be the heir - he will be the Ally's representative on earth

Glaeken isn't indestructable. He could be killed if he were injured seriously enough. I've been figuring that making Jack the Heir is the Ally's way of having a "backup" just in case Glaeken were to be killed somehow.

Maybe there have been Heirs waiting in the wings as long as Glaeken has been alive - just in case. The Heirs don't get immortality as long as Glaeken stays alive.
