Maggers Wrote:Nice catch, that "sub is returning" quote.

I caught something in the last episode when the really nasty Other, whose wife/girlfriend was killed, left the OR on his way to try and kill Sawyer. The nasty Other said to another Other, something like why is Ben trusting Jack, "Shephard wasn't even on Jacob's list." That last part in quotes is an exact quote. Who the hell is Jacob? And what list was that? I know the Tailies had a list created about them, but did Jack's group have a list created by .... whom, Ethan, or Jacob? And, again, who the hell is Jacob?
I caught that, too. (I didn't catch the "sub" quote.)

They ask the same question here: The Offical LOST Wiki

I was thinking that it was the list of Survivors that Michael was to bring to The Others, but that list included Jack (Kate, Jack, Sawyer, and Hurley).

I think there are definitely two islands. I mean, we saw two islands when they took Sawyer to the top of the hill. Plus they have the sub that goes back and forth.

I hope that when the show comes back, we get to see more of Sayid, Claire, Charlie, Hurley, Sun, and Jin. Heck, even Desmond would be a welcome break from the Jack-Kate-Sawyer Show.

The quote that Locke saw on the staff (look north, or something like that) will lead him to see the other island (if it does exist; I'm not sure that it isn't an optical illusion of some sort). At the same time Kate will be escaping. This will lead to a reunion of the two groups. That's what I think will happen.

That sounds reasonable to me.

The ads for the next mini-season mentioned "hope" returning. I suspect it's coming in the form of Desmond, to whom something mind altering and possible body altering happened when he was blown up in the hatch.

When I looked at the other island that Benry showed Sawyer, I was not sure of what I was seeing. I don't know if was poor CG effects or what, but I am not 100% certain that there are two islands.

I think there is room for optical illusions of a wide variety on that island due to the powerful electromagnetic forces at work.

There's been so much brutality towards our heroes this season. I'm really tired of it. It's one thing for the Island to be an adversary and cruel. It's an altogether different thing for human beings to be that adversarial and cruel to each other. And the Others are nothing if not cruel.

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

I think speculation leads to frustration, especially on a fictional show where the writers can just "make up" anything they want and everyone is either blown away or frustrated.

I liken it to all the speculation that went on after Matrix 2 was shown in theaters with all its underlying themes, then the disappointment that Matrix 3 didn't follow up very well on what was presented in the middle movie.

With "Lost" -- if you consider it anything more than pure escapism and entertainment, disappointment looms.

Ben/Henry had a hard time of it last year when the shoe was on the other foot.

True. However, all of the Others, with the exception of Juliette and the hat/beard guy from the boat, have been exceptionally nasty to all of the Oceanic 851 folks. Even Henry took a baton to Sawyer, though it was in response to Sawyer's trying to electrocute him. And Benry is downright manipulative and mentally abusive.

Sorry, but I don't understand why they are so darn violent. They began killing and kidnapping the Tailies right off the bat. Ethan left Charlies hanging, quite literally, and he was ready to kill Jack. When they took Walt, they shot Sawyer before he could draw and they bombed the raft, effectively leaving Sawyer, Jin and Michael to drown.

Apparently they did something to the boyfriend of young Alex, Rousseau's daughter.

Nuh-uh...those guys are mean and they are killers, despite Benry assertions otherwise.

Yeah, I agree, in fact remember when Lock I think was in that other hatch last episode, and they fiddle with the camera system, and that man with the eye patch. I want to know who he is, and his role. Maybe he is on a different island like you mentioned.

Lost will be back Feb 7th.

The ABC Lost site has a few previews up. It looks like Bai Ling will be joining the cast. I'm a little disapointed that they didn't rerun the first six episodes.
