Kenji Wrote:This is Imperial Hotel. Matsuo met Hiroki near the hotel. Hiroki pointed to 2nd floor's window, and one man was over there.
*I haven't read English version, so I'm not sure those conversations are correct. :o
1936 February.
Hiroki said "Look over there".
Matsuo; "Where?"
Hiroki;"2nd floor, 3rd window from left. Can you see that man?"
Matuso;"What's that man?"
Hiroki;"The man is thinking that places are good for seeing the Emperor. But he will know he is misunderstanding"
Kenji, Do you know if this hotel was designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright? If this is that hotel, it was one of few buildings standing after an earthquake. Wright received a letter signed by the Emperor thanking him for designing such a fine structure, but it turns out that Wright sent the letter to himself. This story was related to me by FLWright tour guide in Oak Park, IL, so I believe it to be true.
