On the last week's episode of Supernatural, Sam and Dean fought a Hindu flesh-eating demon called a Rakshasa. With a bit more digging, i found out that the things are real (in a way as in there really is mythology about them,) and FPW is even mentioned on its wiki page.

Wicked.

From what I understand, there are a lot of different dialects in the Indian language. Rakshasa was one way, Rakoshi another. Kinda like tomato and tomato. ( I hope my accent came through)

That's so cool. I had no idea they were so widely used - even The Outer Limits and Kolchak: The Night Stalker! Way cool.

Then there's Kipling. The name of Mowgli's wolf-mother is "Raksha", pronounced "Rucksher" and translated as "the Demon".

Of course - I'm sure that's what we all assumed! Until you wrote The Tomb, no one else had ever been brave enough to call the creatures by their "real" name! Smile
